and the little one has a chance to escape!![face_idea]

    You ate my Obi-Wan[face_sick]

Wow Master, you've been busy! So much emotion in so few words. I'm so amazed at your talent and am constantly reminded of how blessed I am to call you Master.

    Holy...

You really gave the creature a unique and authentic voice. Simple, but not exactly menacing--like you said, all creatures need sustenance, and is it his fault he needs food?

At the same time---you killed Obi-Wan! [face_worried] All I can say to that is you're lucky I like you so much!:D

dimyavie ? I've been trying to write mush but it's just not coming. I'll keep trying. Thanks for the sad. I just had to write it. I don't know why. [face_blush]

ClaudiaR ? Yep, Obi-Wan died a horrible, crunchy death. LOL on Qui-Gon being the negotiator. I don't think the predator really cared.:p LOL.

    VaderLVR64 ? LOL. Yes, I killed Obi-Wan. If it's any consolation, Qui-Gon was next. [face_whistling]

Valairy_Scot ? Glad you liked it. It was a sick piece but someone had to write it. Thanks! [face_blush]

Bastet ? yes, Obi-Wan got eaten. But Qui-Gon is next! Sometimes I just have to write twisted. [face_whistling]

Gkilkenny ? Yes, you would think the older one would sacrifice themselves for the little one but Obi didn't have a chance. However, Qui-Gon is going to bite it next. ;)

jedidas3 ? I have been busy. If I can't really sit down and write long things, then short pieces are better than none at all. Thanks. You are a wonderful Padawan! [:D]

LuvEwan ? Thanks. I was giggling when I wrote it. :p It was just too weird for words. LOL.

Yes, I like you, too. [:D]

    Challenge: TPM100 challenge ? haunted
Summary: Qui-Gon's thoughts as he flies back to the Temple after leaving Obi-Wan on Melida/Daan
    -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

    I left him there.

    Abandoned on Melida/Daan.

Haunting me, taunting me, I try not to remember his eyes growing more vulnerable with every scornful word.

I try not to remember his fingers curling empty, the lightsaber I'd taken, confiscated ? stolen - still warm in my hand.

I try not to remember his face twisting into grief or how he stood there looking as if he'd been gutted when I walked away.

    Tearing him, tearing me apart.

I try not to remember the boy so silent, so bewildered.

    So young.

    I left him there.

    Abandoned on Melida/Daan.

And I still don't know why.

Oh, I actually for once feel sorry for Qui-Gon - he seemed so focused on Tahl only in the JA books. He didn't look to the larger picture - but in this, he focused on one abandoned boy.

That little white grub death ... I just had to write this drabble in response (posted with Dianethx's permission):

?Oh, no,? Obi-Wan knew a dream come to life when he saw it. He was far stronger in the Unifying Force then Qui-Gon. It had been a vision, then, of being devoured ? broken ? in the creature?s mouth.

Big creature ? big teeth. Crunch?he shuddered.

He looked to Qui-Gon. Force, he loved the man. Greater love hath no man ? he would willingly die for this man.

?You?re a wise man, Obi-Wan, wiser than I.? He remembered that, too.

So ? there was just one thing to do.

?Take him! He?s got more meat on his bones.? He pushed Qui-Gon forward and took off.

    That's a Bobby Ewing response!

Don't worry about not having any mush. The poignant drabbles are just as wonderful, if sad. Thanks for writing! :)

    Beautiful and sad:_|
Come'on Qui-Gon you know very well why you left him![face_shame_on_you]
Because you could not see the difference between Obi-Wan and Xanatos.O:) [face_devil]

Valairy's little piece made me laugh

    Way to Go Obi!![face_laugh]

?Take him! He?s got more meat on his bones.? He pushed Qui-Gon forward and took off.

Normally I'd wait to reply to my readers until I have another update and I will but I wanted to let Val know that she's a sick, sick puppy! [face_laugh]

More meat on his bones indeed. :p

    Great job, Val!

Be sure and read Valairy_Scot's little story above (it's in green). It's hilarious!

Jinngerbread ? Thanks. I meant it to be. [face_whistling]

Valairy_Scot ? Then my job here is done. LOL. I just wanted to show that he doesn't always know why he's doing something, even though as a Jedi he should. His heart has been broken and he lashes out. Unfortunately, Obi-Wan bears the brunt ? unfairly, I might add. But I still adore the character.

Thanks again for the silly response to my drabble. [:D]

dimyavie ? The next one isn't mushy ? much. I'm glad you are enjoying the series. Thanks.

Gkilkenny ? actually, sometimes Qui-Gon acts before he thinks. It may work in combat but he needs a few lessons in relationships. Thanks. Val's piece made me laugh, too.

    VaderLVR64 ? I'm sure Obi-Wan doesn't know. :_| Glad you liked it.

    jedidas3
? I love angst! :p Thanks! It's great having you as my Padawan, too. [:D]

Bastet ? But we all know it turned out all right in the end. Thanks.

LuvEwan ? Yes, I wanted to punch him out and make him go back. One of these days I'll write the story of what I think should have happened on Melida/Daan. Some day?.;)

ClaudiaR ? LOL. I'm sure Obi-Wan was tasty. [face_laugh] And yes, Qui-Gon was confused ? a lot ? about relationships. Thanks for reading.

Since I've been writing so much angst lately, I thought I'd give it a rest. I wrote this to celebrate the Fourth of July but any holiday will do.

    Title: Holiday
    Characters: Qui-Gon, younglings
    Rating: G
    Challenge: TPM100 holiday challenge

Balls flying above his head - red, blue, ultraviolet, eye-popping yellow, bubble-transparent - were falling, rising, careening off walls, ceiling, each other, held up by the Force and the energy of young dreams.

    Children having fun.

Joyful chaos, it was wondrous to behold.

Usually, Jedi younglings do not scamper, laugh, jump with boundless enthusiasm. But on holiday and off-duty, they were playing with wild abandon, shrieking their delight.

    Qui-Gon found it strangely soothing.

One bright-haired boy toddled over, placed a grass-green ball into his palm, grinned, insisting, "Play!"

Qui-Gon grinned back, tossed the toy up high.

Sometimes, Masters need a holiday, too.

Bastet ? Thanks. I had to do at least one cute one for all the angsty ones I've been doing lately. Glad you liked it.

dimyavie ? Thanks. Sometimes a Master needs to relax! ;)

Valairy_Scot ? LOL. You are a sick puppy. :p Glad you liked the drabble.

ratna ? Thanks. I liked that one myself.

Gkilkenny ? Yep, Qui-Gon sees the lighter side ? for once. Thanks.

VaderLVR64 ? Hope you had a good road trip. Thanks for reading.

Okay, another angsty one. I seem to be writing a lot of those lately. I'll try to do better next time.

    Characters: A Master
Summary: Sometimes, realizing what you've done is not enough.

    Then?.

I never acknowledged the exuberance of his smiles or the undeserved worship in his eyes.

I ignored a boy's soft questions, whisper of hands brushing at tunics too new for comfort, the boot-heel slap, slap as he rushed to keep up with my impatience.

I was trapped in old pain, too foolish to understand a child's heart.

    And he paid for it.

    Now?.

The memory of him is a grey ghost, haunting the empty spaces behind me. My Padawan once resided there, his footsteps eagerly shadowing mine.

    No more.

Only regret remains and a boy's lightsaber in my hand.
