    "G" is either pronounced with a y sound or with a hard g sound, like in "give". Our J is also pronounced with an English y sound, BTW. Y, however, is pronounced as a long vowel in Swedish (similar to E), and almost never as a consonant (so basically never with the y sound that you'll find in "yeah").
