Anyone waiting on a tag from @Laine_Snowtrekker , please move on without her character in game. I just received a PM from here---DRL is consuming all her efforts at the moment. While we look forward to her return soon, everyone's health & safety is always the most important priority.

I will move the character as Game Master as soon as I can. Laine has requested the character is not killed off, so I will follow through with that request.

Okie-dokey, prayers and well wishes for you Laine! I know this is a stressful and odd time for us all in one manner or another.

Bravo, currently we were trying to set up a meeting in a restaurant to vet and then share our views with ships resident spook. So a quick travel out would work best for me as I cannot really think how to play through the awkward scene of waiting for the spook that doesn't materialize. I don't know if you want to retro GM that the meeting happened and she is gone chasing our rabbit hole or unreachable for some reason or if she never showed. Either way I'll wait for you to resolve that one in your mighty GM vision for what fits best for our Imps

As for my other tag, I have not forgotten. Just still dredging up how to best roll that out and I keep getting distracted.

 

So, yes, I was wondering how that restaurant bit was going to work. Well, I'll go fix that right away so we can get moving along.

As for the other tag...well I know I gave you guys about 3 novels right there. I was trying to wrap up a few plot threads and then it just kinda grew me. I, ah, got distracted while playing Palso there---it was fun...to say the least.

Game Announcement

I've been doing a major overhaul of the Paradoxical Echoes Wiki, our "Library Thread", for the last 3 weeks now. For the necessity of those 693 (and counting) pages going forward, and because I want to built a in-depth world for you all, I am doing a complete revamp of the navigational system. I was hoping to have it done this last weekend, but 2 children will keep you running around like a chicken with its head cut off sometimes. So my most feasible date for completion is sometime this week.

While I don't recommend to check it out right now, because its a mess with navigation and would confuse the stuffings out of you, I do highly recommend you check it out once the navigation is fixed and I'll let you know when that is. It will mirror Wookieepedia's layout with primary headings divided down into smaller subjects, verses my mass of articles under "Kingdom of Jod" which, while factually correct by association, was a holy mess even for me to find what I wanted and I made the articles!

So, I hope this new update will please you all and allow the wiki to be used to its full potential.

An update....

I'm getting very close to being done on the wiki. The primary navigation is complete (if you want to check it out), now its a few adjustments here & there and a handful of articles needing to be added or placed in their proper position with the navigation. Of most pressing concern is the Starfighter Corps & Motorized Armor, where you'll see major vessel & vehicle adjustments respectfully with adding new vehicles to replace older ones in the Re-Engineered heading in each article respectfully and giving those vessels & vehicles their own unique pages. As such, expect the Miscellaneous drop-down tag categories to see additions here soon. Once again, all of this is being done to improve your Paradoxical Echoes experience with the wiki page. Constructive criticism and reviews would be much appreciated, so I know what to do and what not to do in the future for you all.

Additionally, I have a few NPC character sheets to add for a few of you that have been requested and has been on the "to-do list" it seems like forever.

Game Master Announcement

Hey all, a few things I need to address going forward. Nothing to alarm anyone, but I did want to get the ball rolling in the right direction in case DRL takes more out of me time wise, i.e. doctor appointments, surgery, etc.

I won't get into too much detail because of privacy reasons on the boards, but a few of you have been briefed on it here privately and if you follow me on Facebook, I posted it on Friday. Long story short, my physical pain at the beginning of the month from my old Firefighter injury was a precursor and a separate issue to what reared its ugly head last weekend for my health. As such, a routine doctor's visit turned into much more all of sudden and I've been put on the priority list to see a specialist. Luckily, some of the biggest worries have been ruled out via blood work, but my doc is no close to knowing what is affecting me (and my mid-thirties ago is the concerning piece). The whole stress of the situation with our lives turned upside down in 10 seconds on Wednesday has been affecting my family & I, to the extend that I might need to take a few days here or there to refocus privately on priorities in life. Pretty much this whole week I've taken a step back from both the boards and updating the wiki---as well as other personal pursuits outside of the game---and have only now today started engaging in those activities. At the end of the day, this health scare could be nothing or something really big, as the doc told me, but unfortunately my blood work, limited invasive testing, and age is pointing to 4 possibilities (with now 2 of those ruled out luckily). We're taking the early positive results and marching with those.

Because of the great unknown right now, I've promoted @Sith-I-5 officially to Assistant Game Master; I'll tag both of the moderators of the RPF so they know as well (@Corellian_Outrider & @Sinrebirth ). He'll have the same authority & freedoms that I do as Game Master, whether I am here or not. The only time I would overrule him is if its a conflict between a player and him that seems unsolvable because of personality conflicts or bias. He will be able to approve or disapprove character sheets, manage player conflicts, made plot decisions, and see the overall function of the game, as well as the hundred other things GMs do that we so often we forget that they are GM things. The only restriction I'm putting on Sith in-game is the House of Royal Intelligence / Kingdom of Jod and Johnny Boy story arc. That's a bit too complex of an issue that I've been working on in the background on the wiki for 2 months now, so it has to go off as planned or it won't work. Both @greyjedi125 (Intervention's first AGM & co-founder, 2009-2011) and @Mitth_Fisto will be assisting Sith as needed; the reasons behind is are because both these fine gentlemen worked with Sith and myself with the KOJ stories back in the day (2009-2013) and know how I would respond in situations as both a GM and as a player, so their fit is only natural. In the unfortunate event that DRL removes me on a more long basis, I will have story notes for all these 3 gentlemen moving forward in the game, so they know what I had planned next in the big outline of things and can effectively direct the game going forward.

Moving forward, Sith & I will be in constant contact regarding GM things. So rest assured this is not being done haphazardly, but very precisely to ensure the least amount of disruption in the event DRL forces me to step away from my full plate of duties on a more extended timetable.

I will have a post up regarding Palso, Winterkill, and Havah ASAP this week. I'm falling asleep at my computer.

 

I had a post 95% written a few days ago, the DMV - Downtown Medical Volunteers - control, responding to Levric's comm call, but just. could. not. get. it. over. the. line.

Then after a couple days, the entire post disappeared from the phone.

So, despite accepting the AGM role, I have lost interest in writing on the phone for game posts.
I need to get over the fear of setting up the new laptop, getting it online and security protected before nefarious forces notice it.

 

I thought you were using your laptop. But either way, bud, one step at a time regardless of the reasons. It took me 5 years to transition from a laptop to a desktop and its been the best decision I ever made with computers to be honest.

As for your disappearing post----NEVER, EVER, EVER rely on the boards' auto-save draft feature. It saves the post for a day, three max, and then they typically disappear. If you log in with a different browser with the same username (then your post is auto-saved to) and then log in to the browser the boards saved the auto-save with, then the post will disappear. While the auto-save feature is a a life saver in case of a browser crash or sudden power outage, it's benefits are short term, not long term, for saving important posts.

Hello all - interloper here! Don't shoot! Just watching this game with interest and considering trying to get involved. Noticed the recent announcements above and am unsure how to proceed. I wonder if the community could enlighten me:

Q1: Is it too late to try and join? (If YES, stop there nothing else matters thanks for your time see you in the next game perhaps)
Q2: If NO - how many players are there currently and can you give me a breakdown of what's taken?
Q3: Is there a particular character-type / role you feel is currently missing and would just lurve someone to take up?
Q4: Who the heck do I PM my character sheet to in order to get approval?
