    To be fair Sarge, "paying protection" is generally for the right to operate in a territory, and go unmolested by whatever local non-organized criminals are around the place.

    Probably doesn't really apply to bar brawls involving your own patrons you know on a personal level. Boba wasn't really breaking any agreement in not stepping in there. She's paying him to keep Trando/Nikto/whatever gangs from messing with her, and basically for the right to operate at all in Bobaville.

    Honestly, "paying protection" usually just means "If you pay me, I won't wreck your place". It's protection against the person your paying.

    Yeah, one of my buddies pointed that out when we were watching the first ep together, how unusual it is to have a show with not just the two leads but even a lot of the supporting cast being middle-aged. It's pretty rare, opposite of all the CW/CW-equivalent crap everywhere.

    Garsa Fwip is maybe the best new character, yet it's clear at this point that they have no idea of what to do with her.

    Have you noticed that every time Boba enters her pub, he does nothing inside and immediately exits?

    I don't think we are reading their relationship in the same way. To me, he's squeezing money out of her business through blackmailing and extortion. She's very smiley but if she could I believe she'd cut his throat in the middle of the night.
    Also, according to the 90s VHS edition of ROTJ, Boba likes women.
