I, too, came across an error message: A few minutes ago trying to "edit" my post in the Role Playing Forum, and also just now trying to "post reply" in this thread.

 

I was having some posting problems around 11am board time yesterday (mostly of the 'hang after submitting' variety) but I thought it was my broadband acting up. Maybe one of the servers was having a hissy fit.

 

Just took me three attempts to post in the SWC

I find if I refresh a couple of times it seems to work. But I've been having that problem on and off today, too.

Things seem to be working much better today.

 

They seem better now. They certainly weren't earlier. I finally gave up in disgust after posting my last post here. The boards were really slow at that point.

 

Boards extremely slow for me right now (1830 GMT) - pages loading in sections.

 

I've been having a bit of that too. I wasn't sure if it was the boards or my connection.

 

Um, where did the smilies go? When I click the "faces button, I just get a text list,

Weird. Can you tell me what browser/version and OS you're using? I use Win XP and Firefox 3.6.4 and they're fine.

One thing you could try is clearing your internet temp files to see if that helps.

 

Windows Vista. Firefox 3.6.12. I'll try clearing the temp files.

i just tried the site on IE, all the smilies come as red x's.

 

Weird. in IE, go into Tools>>Internet Options>>Security. I added http://boards.theforce.net as a trusted site and then set the 'Security Levels for this Zone' to Medium in IE7 for the Trusted Sites and the smilies show up fine. I think I have it set to 'medium high' for non-trusted internet sites and I've gotten the red x's on other pics. If the setting is too high it might cause sites to appear broken.

 

JC is running exceptionally slowly for me tonight - Its so bad its almost like being back in dial up!!!! Anybody else getting this?

Yes its fine this morning. Perhaps the problem was at my end?

 

Maybe an issue with your ISP? I've had times when the boards have been slow and I'm pretty sure it was T-Mobile as opposed to the boards. Usually I try to bring up another site (like Amazon UK) to see if it is real slow as well.

 

The ESPN bottom line ticker has been giving me fits on and off for the past few days, causing tabs to become unresponsive. Do you have any suggestions on things I could do to try and avoid that? Is there a way to block it? I'm on version 7.0.517.44 of Chrome, on Windows XP.
