We have a few sporadic threads regarding specific movies, but nothing to just randomly post in about any ole movie. So, here goes... Gigli, the romantic "comedy" featuring J-Lo & Mr. Daredevil himself, which cost a reported $54 million to produce, has only brought in ONLY 5.6 million so far. I'd say that's pretty comedic. Ouch!!! Perhaps J-Lo is going to have to pawn one of her diamond-studded, gold-plated, eyelash curlers in order to make ends meet this month...
Actually... They already got paid It's the poor producers that got the shaft on that turkey So, if they can't manage the chemistry on-screen, do you think they'll last?
"So, if they can't manage the chemistry on-screen, do you think they'll last?" I thought they made the movie when she was still [happily?] married to Chirs Judd... But speaking of Daredevil, I rented it last weekend, and they hid the gag reel as an easter egg! So of course, my DVD player rebels, and won't play them. I need a new DVD player. *SB*
If anyone is looking for a high-quality, somewhat historically accurate, feel-good movie, I must recommend Seabiscuit. I'm still not a diehard Toby Mcguire fan, but he did turn in a strong performance in this one. Think of it as Tucker meets Rudy meets The Horse Whisperer. It's been quite awhile where I've been to a movie where the audience openly cheered and applauded for the "hero", and actually applauded when the film was over. Since I appear to be all thumbs at times, I give it ten thumbs up.
I recommend Seabiscuit too. It was a great movie. The audience actually cheered/clapped/shouted for Seabiscuit in the middle of the movie during the race. Good ending too. The guy who plays Seabicuit's rider when Red isn't able to is actually one of the best jockey's in the country. *SB*
What are you saying SS, LL Cool J, oh excuse me Todd Scott James Smith Jones (whatever he calls himself now) wasn't in PM?
I enjoyed SWAT. It could have been much more, but it was still an entertaining flick. Michelle Rodriguez had her good face on for this movie, so that's a good thing. But I wanted more development w/ the girl thing...and I doubt there will be a sequel to sort it all out...oh well. Still a fun movie.
It's been quite awhile where I've been to a movie where the audience openly cheered and applauded for the "hero", and actually applauded when the film was over. I hate to admit it, but I have to. I was a little bummed, but understanding as to why the little bits about when Red met his wife were not put in. For length and non-necessity to the plot, but I thought it was very sweet and romantic that he wooed her in the hospital by quoting Dickens. All of that means I actually listened to part of the book to and from Kansas while Mom was playing it. -=sigh=- I couldn't sleep ALL of the time. Just most. I recently rented Phone Booth. It's rare that I really enjoy a movie that's adapted for the screen from the stage. But I REALLY liked this one. I can usually tell from the dialogue. This one was good. I likie. Colin Farrell.... -=drool=- He's almost as good as Elijah Wood.... Still haven't seen Tomb Raider, and I doubt I will after that comment from one of you guys on the camping trip but I like Angelina Jolie, so I'll at least rent it once it comes out. No intentions of seeing Gigli. It's not even a PayPerView pick. If the $1.50 theater was still open, I wouldn't even pay HALF that. I'm SO NOT a J-Lo fan. My dislike of her ranks up there with Zoo's dislike of Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp. </rant before it gets out of hand> Other than that, give me my Felloship DVD and the OT anyday. -=firm nod=-
Fenig, Tuesdays are $0.50 day at: Tiffany Plaza 6 Intersection Of Hampden Avenue and Tamarac Street, Denver CO 80231 Perhaps when Gigli lands there NEXT week, you could go?
Well, I was in need of a mindless escape last night, so I ventured into the theater to catch Lara Croft: Cradle robber of life, etc.... Um...yeah...can we say...boring? Sorry, but this movie didn't really do much for me, outside of the obligatory oggling over Angelina's Jollys. Other than those, I can't say that it held much of my interest. Weak plot, weak cgi, weak "love-interest". Weak...weak...weak... If ABC produced a Movie of the WEAK...this would be it.
Ditto that on the Light Cycle. I'm gonna check me out some Freddy vs. Jason action tonight!!!!!! Jay-jay-jay-jay... Son-son-son-son... Kill-kill-kill-kill...
You did that camping, I think by the end of the weekend everybody was doing that. I love horror movies. The bloodier the better.
Mmmm...blood...good... Speaking of which (or is it witch?), here's the [link=http://www.ichithekiller.net/#]bloodiest trailer[/link] for perhaps what is the bloodiest movie ever. Enter the site, and then view the trailer. You might want to turn down the volume as well... Definitely NOT intended for the squeamish or underage crowd.
