I watched "Repo, the Genetic Opera" last night. It was very...artsy and violent. Kind of cool, but very strange. Even stranger was that it had Giles from Buffy and Paris Hilton in it... I'm still not sure what to think about it.

I saw My Sister's Keeper. Fantastic premise, surprisingly poorly executed. I was the only person with an ovary not bawling in the theater. Sure, I got a little misty a time or two, but more in the someone-kicked-sand-in-my-eye unavoidable reaction to a sad movie. Slow-mo on the beach, a full minute vomit scene, and the tragically forgotten healthy son, yes yes, all sad, but not enough to bolster poor character development of the parents and weak plot points. Like how they took the one good thing about the movie, the legal battle, and turned it into more cotton candy heartsy fluff.
I really liked the legal stuff.

Bonus: I saw a preview for The Time Traveler's Wife. I loved the book so much I even hated to finish it.

    Funny People
It was funny, then it was interesting and amusing, then amusing and interesting, then funny.
So yeah, my only complaint was that it was long :p

I liked the balance of humor and moods. I was impressed.

I read the book My Sister's Keeper, and that was more than enough of an emotional rollercoaster for me.......I couldn't manage the movie. But I dont do good with death.....
Plus most movies that are from books I'm usually somewhat disappointed, movies are rarely as detailed and often have to leave out parts from the book.

It Might Get Loud in Here.
A documentary on the electric guitar from the point of view of three significant rock musicians: the Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White.

This movie looks awesome. I'm a big fan of Jack White and his band derivations. Jimmy Page is truly a rock guitar god. And I'm interested in what the Edge from U2 has to say.

    Trailer.

This movie will be playing at the Mayan starting on Sept. 11. Anyone else interested in going? Not necessarily opening weekend, but to the movie itself.

We saw Julie and Julia, which I thought was half suck and half magic. Trying to force the two halves into one made it seem too long. But I'm very glad I went so I could see the fantastic parts.

Here are the Golden Globe nominations for Best Drama and Best Comedy. I'd like to rent some of these. My couch is always open if people are interested in joining.

    Avatar

    The Hurt Locker
(Iraq movie, is it? sounds sad)

    Inglourious Basterds
(okay, fine, I'll see it if I have a drink)

Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire
    (want to see it!)

    Up In The Air
(doesn't look like my cup of tea, but I'm more curious now)

    (500) Days Of Summer
(saw it. loved it. would love to watch it again.)

    The Hangover
    (saw it, was pretty good)

    It's Complicated
    (Want to see this!!)

    Julie & Julia
(saw it, half of it was great, half was boring)

    Nine
    (a musical, right? hmmm)

Okay, about the couch offer, looks like only Inglourious Basterds and 500 Days of Summer would work for the near future because of release dates.

I would watch I.B.,500 days of summer may suck my manhood away in the process. Am I correct in my assumption that it's a chick flick? Anyways couch surfing sounds great either way.
