I'll see The Karate Kid. The first one was classic. That's one of the only movies my dad quotes from, so it's dear to my heart. I'll try to not compare the two and have a good time. I saw one preview and I thought it looked good.
Whaaaa?? Tron Legacy looks freakin' awesome! I'm totally stoked about that sequel (not remake). The graphics in the trailers look super slick. I'm just hoping it has a good plot, too.
As I watch the trailer for Legacy, I can't help but see "Indy 4". All flash, no substance, and when a sequel is released a generation after the original, there's going to be some major alienation for the young and the old as the filmmakers try to get as much money from their audience as they can by trying to please both demographics. Either should have come out sooner or not all. Plus, I'm kinda bitter about it anyway just because the people in charge of the whole shebang said that Tron 2.0 was the sequel and that they wouldn't do anything else with the franchise after that. If a beloved relative of mine was dying, I'd go skydiving and mountain climbing with them and enjoy the time we had, but I wouldn't dig 'em up ten years post-mortem because I was strapped for cash and suddenly remembered that I had forgotten to go through their pockets looking for loose change. Sorry for venting but man, am I getting sick of them trying to make a guaranteed buck by using existing franchises instead of devoting the same resources and creative energy toward taking a risk and making something new. Granted sometimes they get [link=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0407362/]lucky[/link] and it [link=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796366/]works[/link], but most of the time it just feels [link=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1046173/]like[/link] [link=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133152/]they[/link] [link=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0970416/]were[/link] [link=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0427392/]being[/link] [link=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0370263/]lazy[/link] and/or [link=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116654/]cheap[/link].
If they're really desperate, they could always do a M.U.S.C.L.E. movie. The special effects could be done by the Robot Chicken guys. Hmm, maybe I should erase that before someone finds it on Google and it becomes a reality... Edit: If you're reading this Seth, shoot me a PM and I'll whip up a script for ya.
We're watching Inglourious Basterds on Sunday at 6 pm, whether you like it or not. It will be viewed on Sunday at 6 pm, whether you like it or not. We're going to eat what we feel like eating, whether you like it on not. Everyone is welcome to join us!
i am sorry i won't be there...i am still sick..boooo so since Book of Eli is coming out FX is playing Denzel Washington movies...he is such a good actor. I am watching Man on Fire with Dakota Fanning...such a good movie, i remember seeing it in the theater. she is still little...cute.
going to see avatar again tonite. Just found a [link=http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3925738521/]trailer [/link]for the new ATEAM. I reallllly hope it doesn't suck. I LOVED the TV show and Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper are both in it.
Went and saw Shutter Island yesterday, and after sleeping on it and having some time to process it I have decided that it is a decent flick and worthy of spending the dough to see in the theater...main reason I was unsure right after viewing it was because it wasnt exactly what i expected. For some reason...perhaps the numerous trailers I was inundated with for the past six months...I was under the impression that this movie was a horror film. Although there are a plethora of disturbing images and scenes, it is actually more of a psychodrama than anything. That being said, as a psychodrama it does in fact deliver. I spent the entire movie trying to figure out what the heck was going on, and in hindsight, I probably had enough data to figure that out about 10 minutes in. Entertaining bit of flash with some unexpected substance.

Saw KickAss last night. What an awesome movie!! If you havent seen this yet, get off your duff and go to the movies! I cant wait til Bean is a few years older, she is so going to wear a HitGirl costume, oh yeah. I want a fracking bazooka!
I watched Master and Commander because it was on TV and it had Russel Crowe in it. It was really good.
ok went to see the ATeam Friday nite. it was a lot of fun and just a great movie. I want people to go see this so they make a sequel, so go see it.
I have to agree. It was action packed and lots of funny parts as well. Kind of sad that there was not more people on an opening weekend but that just meant better seats for us. Lots of nods to the old series and stay through the credits, it was worth it.
I'm sitting in the theater with my mom, waiting for Avatar the Last Airbender to start. Heard just an hour ago that it got bad reviews, but hoping it is ok.
Hmmm. Well. The Last Airbender was a mixed bag. My mom loved it, but I wasn't so impressed with it all. The special effects were great, the settings, scenery and scope were fantastic... but the plot just wasn't cohesive. I think the main problem was trying to take a tv show series and shorten it down to a short movie. There were too many cases where the plot was moved along by exposition rather than natural flow, and the storyline jumped jaggedly along rather than flowing well. IMO.
I bought Nick of Time at a video store closing. I remember really liking it when it came out. I'm watching it while I sand the cabinets. I'm half way through and it's great. I always worry about seeing movies again after many years. Sometimes the memory of it is better that the reality.

Sucker Punch wasn't so bad. Just watch it for the special effects, cute chicks, and major blow-em-ups. Who needs plot in every movie?
