I believe it comes from Latin and the Anglicized version is "praxis": https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/praxis
(although you're right, "praxeum" seems to be a Star Wars-only version)

 

So it's a fancy, Latin-ish way to say "training area"? I'm surprised that Warhammer 40k have not used it.

 

God, his pronunciations are awful. He also used to say "yuzang vong" in his earlier videos, but I feel like enough people corrected him that he started saying it right. Star Wars Explained pronounces a lot of things weird, too. There was this whole video where Alex and Mollie just kept saying ZAB-rak instead of Za-brak for like five minutes straight and I actually had to turn it off lol

 

Have you never listened to an audiobook? They all pronounce it "za-brak" or "za-brok", emphasis always on the second syllable.

 

Is the Canto Bight novel worth reading? I passed over it because it was a collection of novellas, and I was reading a lot of other Star Wars novels in the previous months.

 

I liked it. It's a little weird, like the Tales from... anthologies years ago. The authors are all excellent and have either written stuff before (JJM... JJM's story is so JJM I could have told he wrote it if I hadn't known) or since.

Oddly all the stories are more... heartfelt?... than either Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina or Jabba's Palace. They all have morals. I wasn't expecting that.

 

Davin Felth, in Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina. He didn't leave the Empire outright, but decided to work against it, starting with shooting his commanding officer.

Seeing the talk on pronunciation...how do you say Caedus? Kay-dus or kie-dus or see-dus?

I say Ka-edus.

 

I say Ca-e-dus (three syllables): 'ca' as in 'car, then 'e' as in 'pen', 'dus' as in 'exodus'.

 

Originally I thought it was "Kai-dus" (as in "eye") because of the "ae", but then for some reason it slowly became "Kay-dus" in my head over time.

 

This is how Marc Thompson pronounces it.

 

I've thought 'Kai-dus' as well.

 

I always just went "cay-dus".

How does the above giant ponytail fit in that TIE helmet?

 

Judging from this picture, the top fits in fine, but a little bit hangs out the bottom.

 

But doesn't the helmets have to be like . . . airtight?

 

My guess: She has it put up in a knot or similar when the helmet is on, it has just gotten lose when she took of her helmet. of and has not taken the time to put it up again yet.
