Get In Line - A Social Countdown to Episode II!

Welcome to the line! In this thread, we'll be counting down the days until the opening of Episode II on the big screen. This thread is a celebration, in every sense of the word. Feel free to socialize with your fellow line-mates, and discuss anything you like. Each day, however, will bring us closer to Episode II, and we'll have a little (or big!) celebration!

A bit of history:

This thread is the merger of two previously terrific threads: the countdown thread and the social thread. As was true with the last social thread: THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE. This is the one social thread that this forum will allow.

Fortunately for you in the 'line', this is a very laid back line. No one is first, and no one is last. You don't have to sit in the hot sun, as we're inside There's also a nice bar, and we get live entertainment in here. Pass the time with the pool tables, air hockey, video games, and the big screen holo-projectors. But be ready each day to celebrate being another day closer to Star Wars: Episode II!!

"Estimating that Episode 2 will open on May 22, 2002 (the Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend), that leaves just 583 days left until the next installment in the Star Wars saga hits the big screen!"

Also, it would be very cool if we can keep a daily update on the latest Episode II related news, info, rumours and general information; as to create a "historical" feel for us all to look back on in months and years to come. Don't you wish you could have had a record of all the "goss" leading up to Episode I...not only to laugh over how silly some of the rumours actually were, but also to remember the good times shared as the anticipation for the new Prequel approached? Well, this CAN be a reality in this thread! Feel free to include all the info you can on a daily basis, not matter how silly the current rumours are but more importantly, to share in the fun and the anticpation for Episode II as one group of extrememly dedicated Star Wars fans.

So, in conclusion, feel free to discuss anything from the latest Star Wars spoilers to the ability to write prayers on a grain of rice. It's up to you. This is *our* thread!

The VADERADE:

A Vaderade is a special concoction whipped up by Senator Dzrekpo Amegnran, consisting of the following:

1/2 ounce blackberry brandy
2 ounces bourbon
1/2 ounce lemon juice
6 crushed blueberries
1 dash orange bitters
1 dash anisette
Served over ice

DRINKYPOO:
Bailey's Irish Cream
Bushmill's irish Whiskey
Kahlua
Strong Coffee
A little bit of milk

INRAW (I'm Not Really At Work):
The main ingredient in this drink is Sodabi, which is basically moonshine distilled from palm sap. It's the liquor of choice in coastal West Africa, and has an indescribable but delicious flavor. Legend has it that the name came when a British colonist took a shot of Sodabi and then fell off his stool. Flat on his rump in the dust, the Brit exclaimed "So that be!" Thus, the name stuck. It is very strong!
Here's the mix:
Sodabi
Grenadine
Pineapple Juice
Orange Juice
Dash of Lemon Juice
Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
A slice of Mango submerged in the drink
A cherry on top
Measures of the ingredients depend on taste, and on just how much you want to escape work that day.

KIMBALL:
1 ounce Cointreau
1 ounce light rum
1 ounce dark rum
2 ounces pineapple juice
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Garnish with banana slices

SIMPLICITY
tall glass of orange juice

THE PAIN AND HAVOC:

2oz Absolut Kurant vodka
1/2oz Pineapple juice
1/2oz Blue Curaçao liqueur
Ice
2oz Lemonade (sufficiently sour)
1oz Cranberry juice

Blend vodka, pineapple juice, blue curaçao and a little ice in a blender until desired consistency is achieved. Mix lemonade and cranberry juice together. Pour vodka mix into glass first, and then top with lemonade mix (which should float). Produces a stunning red-on-blue effect. Red is for Pain (sour as lemons), while blue is for Havoc (strong, and bitter as a result of the blue curaçao).

THE MAULTINI:

When I first saw Darth Maul, I immediately thought of Halloween-time. This lead to thoughts of harvest, and to Maul as some sort of angry harvest-demon sent to scorch the earth and take the bounty with him to whatever dark lord he served. My mind works in strange ways.

So, with Halloween and harvest in mind, I present to you:

The Maultini

1 1/2 ounces Skyy Pumpkin Infused Vodka
1 1/2 ounces Skyy Cinnamon and Clove Infused Vodka
Splash of Absolut Peppar Vodka
Dry Vermouth to taste
Garnish with a Cinnamon Stick
Add a tiny bit of red food coloring, for effect

I saw the cinnamon stick as a lightsaber, and the food coloring would be strictly optional. It would make a great drink for those cooler nights of fall, winter, and early spring, but I believe I'd like to taste one right now!

THE SCREAMING POD RACER (SHOT):

1oz tequila
1oz light rum
1oz orange juice
1/2oz cherry brandy
1/2oz melon liqueur
Served with a little ice, and an orange wheel at the bottom of the glass.

A couple of these will get you up to speed in no time, maybe even able to do the Kessel Run in less than one parsec! Enjoy.

1oz vodka

Hard Vaderade:
Same as a vaderade, but frozen

Bloody Hairy:
Tomato Juice, vodka, tobasco sauce, hair (Wookiee, Ewok, or otherwise will suffice - not for the faint of heart)

Amidalla Sour:
Amaretto, Sour mix, Genadine, Marachino cherries, and a heavy dose from the pure alcohol tap

Flaming Wookie/Ewok:
Light the creature in question on fire, let it run around the bar in a rage knocking bottles and such to the ground. Collect spilled contents together in glass (it should be on fire from the flaming creature touching it) and serve

C 3-People

1 shot vodka
1 shot Amaretto
1 shot sloe gin
1 shot triple sec
Cranberry juice

All ingredients in glass with ice, shake, add cranberry to taste.

Hey, I just got my third star! Drinks are on me!

 

I use to have that Star Wars Arcade Game on my old "Amstrad" computer. Haha. Ah, the memories...

 

Is that game available on shareware or anything for the PC?

I'd love to have that one around at home.
