    As a man approaching old man-ness, the thing I'd wish for most is that the ST creates a new generation of young fans in that 7-12 year old sweet spot. Rebels and Clone Wars just didn't reach enough kids to really do that job. I don't think the constant play and the home video titles of the OT and PT really did that job either.

    So, best hopes for that. If TFA really knocks it out of the park in terms of how many young people it reaches around the world, then maybe we have a shot at really continuing and expanding the cultural impact of Star Wars for another generation or two.

    We'll have to wait and see who lines up for Episode VIII.

    And here we are. This is mind-blowing haha -- I get to see TFA tonight, and I'll probably jump right into this thread to get ready for 8 immediately thereafter...

    Also kind of neat that this just happened to be my 1000th post.

    Major failure. I doubt anyone's going to know this movie's coming out unless we get a trailer within 2.5 days.
