So out of curiosity. Do any of you guys/gals have a "healthy obsession" on par with Star Wars? I keep thinking how long this 18 months is going to be. And keep looking for something else to distract myself. But I don't really have anything that compares to this. What about all of you? Are you into anything else to this level?

Legos, billions and billions of Legos. OK, so maybe it isn't so healthy an obsession.

 

Hmm, that's a good question. I have a wide variety of interests, both entertainment-wise and other. But I don't think any of them are quite as "deep" as my SW interest goes. And even that's relative; I don't read much EU, play SW games, do any cosplay, etc.

 

I used to play lots of D&D in highschool, but now we're all too old to have enough free time to game more than once every couple of months. and thats even with Skype.
Now its just playing lots of Rhody-killing jewelry princess with my daughter.

 

Yeah, most of my free time now is devoted to stuff with my kids. Which is fine with me.

 

I'm overdue for my annual Tolkien binge, but that's about it.
Mostly I just need to get outdoors more.

 

I also spend most of my time with the family now. But I have 7 & 5 year old boys. And all they want to watch is Star Wars. And it's not my fault! The 5 year old became completely obsessed on his own.

My son is the same way. He wakes up asking questions about Star Wars. Talks about it and plays Star Wars all day and then goes to bed dreaming about Star Wars. My daughter can take it or leave it, but she plays along.

 

That's awesome. My 7 year old son loves SW too, and my 4 year old daughter is warming up to it.

 

Healthy?? I don't know about healthy, and I don't think any of them are on par with SW (I certainly don't have a 'job outside of my actual job' for any of them. ) But I am pretty into Doctor Who and Arrow at the moment. (I participate in a few other fandoms such as White Collar and NCIS), but other than that I'd say theater is my obsession. There are so many shows I want to see right now and of course most of them are super popular and hard to get tickets to.

 

Free time? What's that?

 

I ran two half marathons this spring and I'm seriously considering getting back into full marathons starting this fall. I also have two boys. One is a causual SW fan and the other is too young to tell. I bascially have no free time at all and 18 months still seems like a really long time from now.

 

So... we have 7NSA GIL, 7SA GIL and... Spinoff Slimy Mudhole kind of lair... or... SM Lair for short.
