The very short answer: Stealth, lots of stealth.

But now you can read that review, so off you go.

Well I just read your act two review, and suffice it to say I completely disagree. Thought the story and battles were great and had no problem with the stealth sections. There you have it :p

Unlike a certain Samurai Lord, I don't mind disagreement.

Okay I finally got to sit down with this for a couple hours today. I’m pretty deep into Act I and I’m loving it! The environments are simply gorgeous, the story is great so far and the combat is a lot of fun.

The boss battle with the Mongol leader in the mud felt incredibly cinematic. That’s the overriding feeling I’m getting from the game so far. It feels like you’re in a movie.

Yeah the game is super cinematic. Would love to replay it in Kurosawa mode and with Japanese dialogue some time to add to that feeling.

I’ve finally learned all the stances! I love switching between them while taking out an entire enemy camp!

It's a wonderful graphical effect, but an option to keep the distance indicator on screen would have enabled me to enjoy it more.

sure, you have to be stealthy in this game.

Oh, not always. Later, full on all-out war is incredibly satisfying.

Yeah, that’s one of the things that’s been slightly annoying about this game. An onscreen map would be useful too. I’ve gotten lost a couple of times.

I get what they were going for, it's a very deliberate design choice, one that works for the most part. Just having a couple of toggle-able options would enhance it more.

I took a voluntary step back on this game to recharge the battery as there was only so many times I could rescue or kill the same 5 people over and over and over and over again and I was forced by Laura to take an extended break. I hope to be getting back into it soonish. My son will force the issue once I’m back home anyway.

Oh but I was finally able to watch 13 Assassins over here in Houston. It was nice and violent. Don’t think I ll ever need to rewatch it like I will The Last Samurai or Sho Gun but I did enjoy it.

I just finished the Siege of Yarikawa and damn that ending was epic! I think I’m pretty close to finishing Act II now but I want to clean up the other Mongol bases first. Last time I waited until I finished Act I and had to defeat like 20 camps before continuing on.

I beat the game today. What an ending! I don’t know about anyone else but...

I let Lord Shimura live. Felt like the right thing to do given that Jin has given up the Samurai life and isn’t bound by their honor code anymore.

This game and The Last of Us Part II are my favorite games of the year so far. I’ll give TLOU 2 a slight edge but they’re both fantastic!

Same decision for me for the same reason. And yeah, I give TLOU2 an edge just for being more groundbreaking story-wise, but GoT is a very close second.

I went the other way, but due to the humiliations never ending for him.

That whole sequence succeeds at giving you his perspective but then ends with a choice that the game gives no hints on the 'correct' way to respond to.

Which I like. You get to personify what you think Jin should have learned through the events of the game. It makes the possibility of a sequel more interesting because hopefully they'll give you the option to choose how you play rather than being made to do certain things.

I don't think a sequel will involve Jin. It's pretty clearly set up to be able to follow Tomoe to mainland Japan when the Mongols invade ten years later.

Team-up then, Jin and Tomoe, online co-op!

They could also continue Jin's mopping up on Tsuschima for DLC.
