that only goes back to the beginning of the pacers series actually. they swept the bucks and beat the bulls four straight after dropping game one.

i honestly have no idea what will happen tonight. the spurs obviously missed a great opportunity in game 6, but if any team has the poise to bounce back from something like that it's them. the heat looked really rattled on tuesday until lebron decided he was taking over. i'd be really surprised if tonight he doesn't come out more aggressive right from the opening tip.

As much as it pains me to say it, I can't see the Heat losing tonight.

    Obv I hope I'm wrong.

i'm with epic. you don't get that close to winning a championship, then drop the ball like the spurs did, and not have some consequences the following game. not to mention the minutes that were played by people like duncan. i can't see him being anywhere near as effective in this game, for one.

Normally I'd have to imagine what my brother is going through, but since I was in this exact same situation 3 years ago, I know exactly how he's feeling today. I've resigned myself to a possible Miami win, the hysterics he'll go through when celebrating... it won't be a boring night over here. :p

He surely won't be, but it's also hard to see Parker being as ineffective as he was in Game 6. He went 6 for 23. (One field goal miss away from being named Finals MVP). That was 4-for-21 before his two consecutive makes at the end of the fourth quarter. If he bounces back, the Spurs will have a shot.

I see the Heat winning by 7-10 points, and me then becoming more depressed over any sporting event since the Eagles blew the 2008 NFC Championship Game vs. Arizona. I mean, I could have handled just losing, but the Larry O'Brien trophy being wheeled through the tunnel? Come on. Makes me positively reminisce about just losing 4 straight to OKC last year.

parker played a lot of minutes too, and odds are he'll have james guarding him for large chunks of the minutes they're on the floor again. that's a very large part of why parker played poorly. and then chris bosh was rather effective when he ended up having to guard him as well. parker didn't play badly, he was neutralized.

I don't think anything can sum up how I feel better than this.

Oh only the sporting event would probably be that Arizona/Steelers Super Bowl. Or the Reds last year. Or...alright I'm done.

Celebrations in Cleveland as in San Antonio
Give us this night a Double-Double

    Lead us not into despair
But deliver us from the "Chosen One"

If the Spurs lose they'll officially be the New England Patriots of the NBA; an entire decade characterized by both multiple, joyous, championship wins and monumentally soul-crushing defeats. On the good side, you've got crushing the Lakers in LA in '03 to end their quest for a fourpeat, the Steve Kerr Game 6 against Dallas in the WCF that same year, the championship against New Jersey, the Robert Horry Game 5 against Detroit in 2005 and championship Game 7, and the championship in 2007. On the bad side you've got Derek Fisher's shot in '04, Manu's indefensibly stupid foul of Nowitzki in 2006, blowing an 18-point lead Game 1 of the 2008 WCF against LA, effectively ending the series(and the bull**** no-call on Brent Barry at the end of Game 4), and then to cap it all off, we'll have the "Yellow rope game", which makes me positively reminisce about the others, if the Spurs don't shock the world tonight.

As I said earlier in the thread before the Finals started, it's a nice problem to have. But those losses still hurt. Badly.

Looks like the Clippers are putting all their efforts on getting Doc and leaving aquiring KG alone for now.

Edit: So of course David Stern puts the kibosh on the whole thing.
