Short version (not that the linked article is long at all): golfer hits rock in the rough, sparks fly, rough catches fire, fire spreads over 12 acres, 150 firefighters arrive to put it out.

It seems to good to be true.

 

Golf is awesome. They must be in a major drought there, though, for sparks to actually ignite a fire at all - normally that's pretty difficult to do even when one is trying.

 

I'm going to refrain from the assumption that R...J knows a lot about trying to ignite a lot of acreage while on the golf course.

 

I'm talking about sparks igniting grass in general, not anything golf-specific
