[b]Chapter 18:[/b]

It turns out that my diversion to Bespin was a [i]good [/i] thing. Even though the mission the council wanted to send me on was given to someone else, I was able to save some lives. While on Bespin, I visit the consulate there, and I sensed a disturbance when I passed by a visitor. He seemed very nervous. When I went over to talk to him, he took off running.

To say the least, that was very suspicious in itself. After all, I just asked him directions.

Well, I caught him, and it turns out he had a bomb, and was going to plant it and set it off during an important delegation meeting. Afterwards, I let the local authorities take over.

It's kind of embarrassing the hero treatment they gave me. I was just doing what anyone else would do.

 

I was able to save some lives

Now that's making the best of an unfortunate circumstance.

Though, I'm beginning to suspect the Force had a hand in the diversion.

I *hate* it when I ask a bomber for directions. I always seem to end up where they're planting the explosives!

I think the embassy loved it as well since they got some free security out of it.

Yeah, I think it's a safe bet the Force guided him there.

Not to mention the possiblility of body parts getting scattered about... I really hate when that happens, because it's so hard to pull yourself together afterwards!

Master MqCray greeted me when I finally arrived back at the temple on Corruscant. He congratulated me on my hero status. Then started laughing at how my ears turned red... my hair hasn't quite grown long enough to cover them yet. I swear, I'm going to grow my hair down to past my shoulders so no one can see my ears or neck when i get embarrassed!

Anyway, then he asked how Miri is.

He laughed even harder at my dreamy expression.

Geesh, will he give me a break? He's worse than Jefri!

That sounds like a good idea, I think I'm going to grow my hair so that nobody can see my face, that way when I say something really stupid, nobody will know how blushy I am.

Wow! This is some pretty intense stuff. A Jedi who loses his love to a monster, then his attemps to heal their relationship after a horrible event. Really sad, really moving. Great Job! Love the Squib Starlines . Congrats on your noms!

He's not ashamed, but just gets embarrassed easily. LOL What he doesn't realize... or hasn't thought of teasing him back about it... is that his Master still gets that dreamy expression when he thinks of his own wife.

I asked Jefri to be my best man for the wedding, and in response, he asked, "When and where?"

He cuffed me on the head when I said that wasn't worked out yet. That was his first official duty as best man... to make me pay attention to those little details. Who knew [i]he'd[/i] be the one to be the stickler, eh?

In my defence, Miri and I didn't quite have the chance to work out those details before I had to go back to Corruscant, and I haven't had a chance to speak to her since I left Achillea.

 

Who knew he'd be the one to be the stickler, eh?

 

Lovely to see Jefri as his best man.

 

Don't worry, it'll be his fault that he and Miri hadn't set a date yet. It's AAAALLLWAAAAYS the guy's fault. I learned that after thirty minutes of dating experience and the wife never lets me forget it.

The good news is I got my sunglasses and bowler. Just waiting on the hair, now. ...where'd I put that rogaine...?

Well, Miri and I set the date... Telona 15, six months from now. That's the good news.

The bad news is both our families are pressuring us to have the wedding in the traditional style... her parent's want it the Achillean tradition, and of course my grandparents want the Corellian tradition. To tell you the truth, I don't care [i]which[/i] tradition we go by, as long as we're married and I can make Miri happy! Miri, on the other hand, is upset. She doesn't want to estrange my family, but she prefers the Achillean wedding.

Perhaps we can combine the two and start a new tradition.
