SW New hope was literally the first movie I saw in the theatres. I was 5 years old and remember being anxious in such a large, dark open interior.
Back then, after the movie was done we could just stay in our seats and wait until the second show began. Needless to say it blew my mind as a child.
The amazing thing about New Hope was that it appealed to folks who generally had no interest in sci-fi or fantasy. You would often hear people say they didn't like space movies, but they liked SW. I think a big part of it was some of the vehicle/ship designers had automotive and military design backgrounds.
That was how I discovered SW and of course the toys were huge for me. I still collect action figures today.
But as far as the Jedi are concerned, I can say for the majority of my life I have found the villains in movies and literature more relatable. I wanted to be Darth Vader. Not Luke.
Boba Fett. Not Han. Magneto not Xavier.
But being a family man now has changed that view point and as Alejandro Jodorowsky once said; "You can't change your memories, but you can change your perspective on them."

 

Whisper by Evanescence as the lyrics speak of the battle within oneself to maintain balance and keep the light. Throughout the song the chorus is about always remembering not to turn away or hide.

Just listened to several songs by Sabaton, really good songs, have not listened to them before. Really liked the Night Witches video as well, very inspiring the bravery of those women against the Nazis, I had not heard that story before. With regards to a song that is Jedi related, Light in the Black has some good lines like "Sent into battle to aid strangers in need", "Protecting civilians, while fired upon."
