I'm struggling to cope; this oppressive state feels almost like, dare I say, liberty.

Either way the issue here irrespective of background of the shooter is


too many damn guns that are too easy to get hold of

 

And the mental health crisis will continued to be ignored

 

Really wish the media would not share videos from inside the classrooms.

So distressing for the families.

 

The problem is more than easy access to guns. There is something seriously twisted about the American culture. These mass shootings are just the most obvious symptom of a disturbed society. It doesn't matter how big our homes are and how good we are at keeping up appearances, as a nation we're nothing more than a deeply dysfunctional family.

 

A human life has no value in America.

 

Maybe we need a special button for when we see people talking about going on a shooting spree. A button that notifies someone who cares, if they exist. A button that does something, like auto-post thoughts and prayers.

 

We've already taken action by electing Trump. Now that Trump is president, gun sales have plummeted, because no one feels motivated to buy guns as a demonstration of standing up for their right to buy guns. Remington has declared bankruptcy. The longer Trump remains president, the more gun manufacturers will go broke. The only way to reverse the tide of bankrupt gun manufacturers would be if we somehow launched a successful gun control movement in the wake of a mass shooting tragedy. Then gun lovers would all rush out to buy more guns in counter-protest to our effort to take away their guns.

All we have to do is never talk about guns in a disparaging way and always elect a pro-second amendment president, and soon no one will be buying guns.

We should just lock this thread. No longer outraged or shocked by senseless killings, especially when the victims are children. Just "Oh look, it's happened again" is now the running theme here.

Unfortunately we proved that we're willing to put up with it when 20 elementary kids were gunned down and we did nothing about it.

 

What the unholy ****? Does the US media have no sense of tact?

 

tbf, UK does the same during terrorist attacks.
