closing the boyfriend loophole is good progress, even if it's just a small victory. Democrats and Gun Control advocates in general should celebrate it nonetheless to show the country that they can, in fact, get things done even in the wake of SCOTUS putting forth huge obstacles. Much more progress is needed.

A) be reversed by a Republican Congress
B) More likely, the weak "gun control" overturned by the SC, leaving intact the parts giving federal money to red states

The suburban parade shooting numbers are roughly comparable to the number of people shot or killed in the city of Chicago over the holiday weekend, always a big weekend for shootings.

2 dozen Chicago suburbs have cancelled their fireworks displays and/or closed beaches out of "an abundance of caution," "respect for the people of Highland Park" and other similar stated reasons. It's the United States, so out of respect for people who want to own assault rifles and the companies that want to sell those assault rifles to anyone and everyone, small communities that can't afford large scale security for public gatherings won't be able to have them any more.
