hey guys sorry about the wait, work has been...interesting over the last few weeks

    IC:Sgt "Aussie" Smith SAS/Delta sniper

The darkened interior of the bunker complex was heavy with dust and the scents of dried blood and excrement. Three thin barrel mounted torch lights pierced the gloom, The three men moved in silent unison, weapons tracking aross their archs as the swept through the bunker system towards their objective. Word from up high was there was a massive bug coming and they needed a bigger stick to hit it with, the detrius of battle littered the passageways, dead and dismembered marines lay intwined with fallen covenant infiltrators. The men exchanged knowing looks as they picked their way through the bodies, Tex tensed, eyes scanning the gloom as Aussie and Bull checked the flanks. There is was a again, movement almost on the perifery, Tex's M4 barked, the flash illuminating the scene as a shape loomed infront of him, the others turned firing short controlled bursts as other shapes swept in towards them. Reflective armour errupted as the elites were hammered with shots at close range. More came in and more blue/orange blood sprayed the walls, one moved in low and picked Aussie up lifting him as he ran across the room, Aussie pulled his combat knife and rammed it into the things neck, blood jetting over them as they slammed to the ground, sawing the knife back and forth he spat the cuvvies blood out as it finally stilled.

Bull helped drag him out from under the cuvvie, and Aussie gave it a vindictive kick as Tex passed him his rifle and they resumed their trek into the complex. Eventually Aussie signalled a halt, as he looked into a side room, the headless body of a civvie slumped over a large looking weapons box. "Looks like this is it lads" he whispered as they slide the CIA mans corpse off the box as respectfully as possible, opening it Aussies eyes lit up as he gazed down on the incredibly menacing weapon infront of him. In a short time they re-emerged outside into the fire streaked air, the large weapon carried on Bull's thick shoulder's. Aussie chimed in on the the net " HQ this is Delta 63, we have the package and are hot to go, need extraction to target area..over". The three men huddled in the shadows of the shattered bunker entrance as they awaited a reply.

    The Battle for Guam Island:

    In Game:

    Action: Operation Octogon.

    Date: 4-4-09. Time: 07:55.

    SOCOM:

"Delta 63. This is SOCOM. Plug your ears in 30 seconds. When the Harpoons have cleared past your location follow their smoke trail towards the ground between the Talafofo and the Ligum rivers north of your location; spot and see if they did any damage to the Scarab Combat mobile platform. If not, you are to engage the Scarab with the Grendal. Artillary is currently moving to new locations and the New Jersey is relocating. This thing was brought on line at the worst possible moment. Be advised to take out itszzzzzzzzzzzzznot the fusion core in the center of its hulzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz," The Radio was no longer able to receive.

Plasma interference was on the rise as a pair of Ospreys came in nap of the earth low, so as to avoid being hit by the Scarabs AA chasers. within a minute they were on ground one of them lowered its access ramp and an airman waved them on board while the other settled down and disembarked personel to retrieve the dead. These two Osprey's were from the 20th SOS's Green Hornets. The crews were specially trained for black ops missions. Suddenly dozens of Harpoon missles swept through breaking the sound barrier as they passed heading north and inland towards the moving target mentioned by SOCOM. There were as many flashes of light followed by explosions with echoing thunder from the faces of the surounding hills and mountains. Their black Osprey wound up and lifted off taking a securitous route towards the team's destination. Meanwhile men were dying to the north from a Covenant weapon of such overkill that even the M1A4s were sourly pressed to stop the four legged behemoth.

"Corporal Hays!" yelled Hisashi from across the room.

"Sir!" replied Hays as he approached Hisashi.

"Contact the general and get permission for recovery of bio samples from the enemy if we don't already have them." says Hisashi.

"Right away professor." says Corporal Hays.

    "Corporal." says Hisashi.

    Hays turns around. "Sir?"

"As well, find out if the general has any new information on the facility the covenant are trying to recover, and if there is a strategy."

"Of course sir." replies Hays as he left the room.

    The Battle for Guam Island:

    In Game:

    Action: Operation Octogon.

    Date: 4-4-09. Time: 06:50.

IC: LPC, Gahuck 'Shupackee Scarab Commanding Officer.

The tactical approach was successful in that the Human combat vehicles were being slaughtered, but Zealot 'Shupackee was frustrated by the need for the other Scarab to share in the counter flanking that his chasers had to double up on. The foreward turret spit forth another stream of plasma hitting a human tank that had attempted to clear out from the line of fire. Too late it erupted in a super heated flare then exploded, even as the upper rear turret spat forth its own gout of death upon yet another combat vehicle caught unawares of the Covenant's answer to Human tricker and misdirection. The rest had scurried away at high speed and avoided their doom for but a few moments more at best. Gahuck was about to give the order to pursue when an alarm sounded on his combat net.

"Incoming missles from the rear, low and at high speed. Countering!" called his defense coardination officer. Automated stand off chaser mini turrets erupted with high speed streams of focused plasma at the approaching missles, most were taken out with ease but the last three were nip-and-tuck close with the last one nearly hitting the scarab from the sheer wave of numbers that ran interference for it. The Engineers had done well in this Scarab's countering modifications. Commander 'Shupackee gave the command to continue foreward. Ghosts and Banshees were rallying to his Scarab now and the battle was becoming one of conquest as it should be. Just then Field Master 'Gharkee gave the latest order.

"Another wave of artillary is being launched. Return to the burrow with all possible speed and wait for the wave to pass then return to battle when I give you the order!" he commanded.

Commander 'Shupackee complied with great zeal and alacrity.

    Tag Kahn_Iceay. Then Morkai.

IC: As LPC Tamawakundra Brute Special Ops Leader with accompanying Platoon on secret mission.

The Phantom Combat troop transport was fast approaching what remained of the carnage surrounding the former Mount Lamlam foreward spotter's nest and bunker facility. There were still prisoners to be taken and questioned. If such could be found. Though the humans tended to expire rather quickly, team leader Tamawakundra marveled that they could come up with such inovative weapons. They truly were little devils in a fight. Ah well so much more the enjoyment of crushing the little mammels under foot. He almost admired them...almost. His team was picked for this mission since Elites considered it beneath them. Never the less he could see the foresight of the Prophet of Hope in acquiring prisoners for intelligence gathering...and other more secret programs as well. Tamawakundra roared at his troops to prepare to disembark for their mission. They'd all hooted and growled as they checked their weapons loads and gear. They were ready. The landing alarm sounded and the ramp began to lower even before the resounding thump of ground contact had occured. Out they charged towards what remained of a former bunker used by the humans resulting in the early journey commencing of many Covenant brethren.

Find clues, survivors and intel...then take what was found and get out fast with it. In they dove into the rubble struin opening that led to the trashed bunker's lower level's.

    Tag: Deiskrad

OOC: There are some PJs still in the bunker looking for survivors. So it'll be a bit messy as PJs are no slouches and will have had a heads up on the Brute's arrival on scene. Make it real please. I'm doing my best to do like wise as well. ;)

The first thing he was aware of was that there was sand tricklign onto his face. Whatever weapon the covenant had used had knocked him silly and nearly collapsed the bunker. With effort, and head swimming, he sat up and checked himself over. No wounds. Only one other soldier seemd to be alive, and he was frozen and trembling as a needler picked away at his cover.

He couldn't hear right, but he knew that the bad guys were advancing, so he grabbed his M4 (which took a moment, as a wave of dizziness came over him, and for a time he saw three rifles instead of one), leaned it over the top and rattled away a long burst.

It sounded like a distant washing machine, so damaged was his hearing at this point.

It clicked, and he checked his bandolier for another magazine.

    Empty. He'd shot his last...

He was considering his next move, when a few more american troops leapt into the bunker and began spraying away.

    Location: NE shore, Guam
    Date: 04/04/09 08:24

There on the north-eastern shore near the airstrip stands Hisashi, General Philip K. Ruhlmann, and the generals senior staff members.

"General Ruhlmann, please allow me to apologize, I know I should have come to you first for permission before bringing reinforcements. As you can understand, some discrepancies had to be made due to the nature of our situation."

"Now, please allow me to introduce Tenrai Heavy Industries greatest creations, Our first is the XM1 or "Ironman"..."

Hisashi waves over to the manned XM1 unit, Corporal Hays steps forward with and M16 equipped with armor piercing rounds and aims it at the XM1 unit.

    Hisashi nods to Hays.

Streams of ammunition fly at the armored suit. The XM1 jars lightly from the force of the bullets, but quickly fragment and disperses when coming in contact with the suits Plasma based armor.

"XM1 you may begin your training cycle. Says Hisashi."

As the Searl Reactor powers on high, a teal glow emanates from under the XM1 units forearms, feet and shoulderblades. The unit bursts into the air at incredible speeds

The suits top speed is mach 1.25, any faster and the pilot starts to lose control. Explains Hisashi.

Next Hisashi shows the abilities of the "Hadron", The Chimaera aims three of its massive cannons at a damaged Humvee placed by Corporal Hays. A teal glow can be seen inside the barrels as its reactor powers up, and with a flash of light the Humvee is sliced into four clean pieces.

"For the Chaemera, traversing over land, air, and sea is no issue... with no treads or tracks, the unit never touches the ground."

"Next is the Viking, equipped with the same artillery as the XM1, the Viking needs no food, no sleep, and no rest... designed & programmed only to attack Covenant forces that match specific biological/thermal parameters(As it is useless to attack a corpse), it is the perfect weapon. As well it's A.I. enables it to calculate friendly fire and precise firing trajectory, knowing when it is safe to fire when humans are in proximity."

    "Next we have..."

"Next we have the flight capabilities of the Chaemera... with a top speed of over 2,600 Mph and the ability to cargo up to 18 additional troops, it is an invaluable asset in the battlefield. Though while travel at such high velocities the "Hadron" cannons are at minimal firing power, enabling them only to take out infantry at best."

Hisashi guides his hand back toward the XM1

"As well, the armored XM1 unit has unsurpassed strength and speed due to the electro-thermal banding within the lining of the suit. Enabling the pilot to run at speeds of over 75 Mph, leaping over 50', and lifting more than 2,200 lbs. Combining the skills of the pilot with the capabilities of the suit makes for a devastating combination..."

Hisashi looks over to the Viking unit

"The Viking along with the Chaemera and the XM1 posses what I call the "Omni-Eye" a tri-ocular system with more than 20 visual sensors enabling the units with a variety of spectrum's as well as 3-D rendering."

"The Viking does not have a port or aft. Its visual sensor encompass both sides enabling it to have a 360 degree view of the battlefield and unlike a turtle the units six independent legs have a 180 degree radius, making its belly now its back."

"This completes our demonstration general. Announces Hisashi"

"Good job Mr. Mori. Says General Ruhlmann."

The general and his staff then proceed back into the base.

After the general is gone, Hisashi opens a special com set up for Sprite 174

"Excellent performance Hisashi san." Says Sprite 174.

"Thank you Sprite, I hope this makes a difference in our struggles." Says Hisashi

"No doubt it will." Replies Sprite 174

Hisashi turns and heads back toward the base entrance... unaware of the large distortion looming above him.

    Location: Mount Lamlam Bunker's remains.

The multiple layers of bunker network had served well to prolong the lives of Sergeant Gibbons and company. With the upper level bowed outward and partially collapsed from the extreme pressure due to the plasma induced explosion, they were truely lucky to be alive at all. Three Air Force ParaJumpers quickly entered the lower level through the bunker's heavy blast door, which-very fortunately-had held during the blast that trashed the upper room beneath the roof upon which the spotter and SF Operators had been calling in artillary and shooting bad guys. A young Air Force Lieutenant spoke up after clearing his throat from the dust that was still settling.

"US Air Force Para Rescue. We're here to get you out and back to a Medivac chopper. Are you injured?" he asked. Just then a roar was bellowed from outside by something big and menacing, followed by a burst of autofire, a human warning call followed by a sickening crunch with an impact that could be felt through the wall by the blast door. A plasma grenade flew through the opening.

"Plasma grenade!" yelled a PJ private just before he jumped, grabbing it-knowing he'd as good as killed himself-to protect his fellows, while the rest of them cleared back and ducked. He sprinted out through the door and died taking a few Covenant Brutes with him. Prescious seconds passed after the detonation occured the rest jumped back up and attempted to gather up Sargeant Gibbons and what remained of his Marine unit.

"We've got to exit now while they're backed off."

It was a valiant effort but the second push was on. More brutes came charging towards them down the connecting tunnel carrying wicked looking weapons with curved bayonets. Fuel rod rifles were always bad news in a fire fight and these were no different. The PJs fired two grenades from they're M204s back up the tunnel into the coming wave of animosity. Again they were stopped short of taking the lower level by way of the tunnel. Finally they got smart and fired a Plasma rifle on overload down the tunnel at the far wall. Though by then everyone was hugging the near wall, the resulting shock wave was enough to temporarily incapacitate everyone in the room. The flash faded and darkness closed in followed by the sounds of Brutes roaring and of humans being clubbed into unconsciousness.

Location: Andersen AFB, North West quadrant.

A modified Phantom Combat Shuttle with a light bending field engaged around it, drifted across the north western quadrant towards the demonstration field and on towards its intended target. The Human had been flagged as a potential problem since his arrival on the Island and had been under observation since before then from orbit as the "controller" of one of the Island nation's most advanced technolotgical facilities. Facilities that didn't make use of fossil fuels for power conversion but regularly used alternative methods at least for public scrutiny with still others being used underground that were susceptable only to Covenant scanning. The Prophet of Hope's Intelligence Command wanted this one brought under Covenant control. Infiltrators had been watching for the opportune moment to acquire such a unique specimen for study as him. The moment had arrived as a demonstration had been carried out and concluded. Closer it drifted...then activated the antigrav beam lifting him up to within the light bending field itself. A cry of surprise was exclaimed just before the target was stunned by a jolt of electrons, drawn through the bottom opening of the shuttle's flight deck floor and snatched to the new base of operations in the ocean south and west of Guam.

    Colonel McNeil

The Colonel paced around the strategic operations table that was being constantly updated with data reports from his command staff as the reports trickled in from the front. The 21st century equivalent of the command diorama tables used back in wars like WWII. McNeil's strategy had been on point so far. He'd managed to force the Covenant off the beach, allowing hem to secure their previous beach head. He'd reduced them to 85% of their forces, at least by the given estimates.

He'd managed to corral the enemy into a small area, decimate their numbers, remove their ground superiority, their air superiority, their infantry superiority. He'd won the entire God **** battle in 48 hours. And then this, this damned Scarab had been brought to bare! Strategic analysis on the base scarab models that had been encountered did little good. This monstrosity matched only the basic parameters of the others, its armament and even tactics were nothing like he'd been briefed on.

But he was slowly working out a tactic to down the damn thing at least long enough to take it as their own. Its tactic of hunkering down and then popping up for attacks was its chief weakness at the moment and McNeil was planing on exploiting that soon. He ordered another round of bombardment from artillery while the M1A4's repositioned, the problem with this was of course he had no idea the Subs had launched missiles until the orders were already sent but he hoped it would work out anyway.

When that thing popped up after the Artillery strikes to defend itself against those missiles, those M1A4's would hopefully be in position to open fire on that things damned main cannon. Armor or not McNeil was hoping that something in that thing was sensitive enough to the high velocity rounds being fired by those tanks. And if that cannon was out of commission. Disabling the thing would be a hell of a lot more easy.

The three men were hunched low as they ran along a spurline, perilously close to the covenant forces main strength. They were moving in hopes of getting a better look at their prey when it raised its ugly head again, pausing in the shadow of a low ridgeline, Aussie gestured at Tex and Bull, the two men smoothly swinging their weapons in protective arcs as they waited for a target. Suddenly the ground seemed to churn under their feet, all three exchanged a look and then gasped as a monstrous shape rose infront of them, Aussie couldnt believe what he was looking at, it was like a huge bug out of a bad sci-fi movie. Silently he prepped the weapon that was strung on his back, when it was ready he shouldered the Graendal and looked down the targeting display. So far so good, they hadn't been noticed and would be ok if they could just shoot and scoot, Aussie breathed out, regulating his breathing as he went through his pre firing ritual. Flicking a switch the target display locked on to the scarab, Aussie smiled to himself "cop this you @#%*!". There was a blinding flash as the weapon discharged, all the hair on Aussies body stood on end and his vision swam, taken off guard by the power of the weapon, all three men swore expletives and then stared as they look out onto their handy work.

IC: LPC, Gahuck 'Shupackee Scarab Commanding Officer.

Gahuck 'Shapackee Commander of Scarab 151 had just received the order to reenter the battle. The order had been given when the last wave of artillary had waned. He knew his Field Master was counting on him to, "rise to the occasion". Rise he did, with a vengence and great firepower, as more of the enemy's pathetic creations of warefare were obliterated in a sweep of his foreward cannon's incinerating arc. Zogar's plan was working. It had to. He had to make sure it did for the Honor of the Legion of Sacrosanct Meditation. The last of the rubble was falling from the Scarab's hull. Good.

"Targeting," called his weapons officer. Foreward and upper rear turrets swung about seeking their next victims of opportunity. Both stopped simultaneously and locked on.

    "Fire!" ordered his weapons officer.

The command room lit up like a Fusion Core oven as a shaft of blue hot energy ripped through the Navigator's control station console from beneath and to the left exiting through the ceiling and to the right, destroying the plasma circuitry within it, then laterally swinging across into the weapons officer's body. It was the last thing that Gahuck 'Shapackee ever saw when the weapons officer's body exploded and burned as bits of firey shrapnel tore into the command room's compliment of personnel, killing all of them instantly. The room lost all solidety and melted into firey slag. The behemoth of destruction lost its syncronised gate, stumbling foreward then keeled into a uncermoneous heep with a resounding crash. So loud was its demise that even Zogar heard it. Zogar was not pleased...

"What the?"....Was all that would come out as Aussie stared down at the burning edifice that was the alien killing machine. All three men were crouched in the blackened, scorched grass in stunned silence as they took in the specticle before them, the remains of the monstrous machine were spewing smoke, fire and sparks as the covenant army around it swarmed around it in disarray. Bull slapped Tex and Aussie on a soot and blood stained sleeve each which broke them out of their revery and all three men slipped silently over the crest of the hill, beginning the long trek back through the enemy lines. Several times they had to hide as confused enemy patrols moved by as they were thrown into confusion by the destruction of their best weapon. Several minutes later Aussie knelt over the body of a jakal, its throat torn out by his combat knife, as he tried to make contact with SOCOM "This is Delta 63, at primary LZ awaiting urgent extraction over". He said in hushed tones as all three men sat in a tight circle scanning the horizon for any movement.

OOC: I'll be leaving the next few days clear for anyone who wishes to post a wrap up for Part 1 of the Pacific Campaign. In any event, the Covenant will withdraw from Guam as per the Prophet of Hope's strategy to misdirect the Humans into commiting their forces on meaningless strategic efforts, while they work on what they really want which was an uninterrupted period of access to the sunken Forerunner Heavy Cruiser.

What you can expect from the coming second part is a mix of Terminator meets Quack IV, meets VIRUS, meets Halo Forerunner Technology, all wrapped up in one ghastly RPG. There will be oppertunities to play Covenant characters as was mentioned earlier. I sincerely hope you'll be able to participate in this creepy second part. Now to wet your appetite.

Prolog: The Mission was starting out well. Brtak was pleased with the successful efforts to raise the Forerunner Ship. It was large to be sure, but not so large as to be unweildy. Bridge officers all reported green status on their stations as the final lockdown sequence commenced for securing the behemoth from the stars. Probes were activated and sent in to investigate the interior of the prize. Even now the Prophet of Hope was watching from his station on board the Carrier, "Wings of Glory", where more combat transports were making ready for the transfer of the Legion of Sacrosanct Meditation to it's next objective of conquest on another island in the Pacific basin. In the probes went. Images were sent back as the visual optics played over the interior's features. Station 5 reported an anomaly from its probe. It had been cutting through a bulk head into a deeper section of the interior when a lump of metal moved and dropped upon the probes body. It then seemed to dissolve into rivulets like mercury and spread over the probes surface, until it found an opening and swarmed into the probes interior. Soon afterwards the probe no longer responded to Station 5's telemetry orders. Then the Combat Software Officer reported attempted breaches on all levels of the base's Network similtaneously...34 minutes into the operation. That's when the facility locked down and all exits from the Recovery Platform were sealed off. No one could come or go...They had been effectively imprisoned within their own facility! Brtak ordered a complete shut down of the network. It initailly failed then they had to do it manually. Technicians and engineers were sent to perform the duty. They were attacked by unknown assailants... Troops were sent down to assist... A fire fight ensued... Casualties resulted... Some engineers, technicians and troops wound up missing... Finally power was cut and an attempt was made to rebutte the system with implemented safeguards. It held but was under continious probing for weaknesses by the now identified AI from on board the Forerunner Cruiser! Then three hours later the missing personnel showed up with strange weapons and began kidnapping more personnel back into the interior of the Forerunner ship!! Brtak ordered a reserve legion to be brought down from "Wings of Glory" and was shocked to find that communications had been comprimised...

Struggling for what seems like an eternity to open his eyes, finally hisashi comes out of his stupor and is able to open his eyes to a blinding light. After a few minutes he realizes the light is actually quite dim.

"How long have I been out?"

There's an ambient humming coming from the vast room and Hisashi notices many devices sprawled out connected to the walls and roof. He sees strange bladed armatures, optics, needles connected to hoses, even what looks to be a form of laser...

"Sprite, can you hear me? Sprite?! Nothing... it seems theres too much interference in this place."

Hisashi walks through the room searching along the walls for an exit, his efforts are in vain... there aren't any.

The back blast was horrendous as the concussion of the Covenant plasma beam blossomed off of the back wall converting into a concussive wave hitting into what remained of the Marines and Terry's Para Rescue Team. What consciousness remained was taken up by dark forms in heavy armor kicking them down or clubbing them all with alien rifle butts into unconsciousness. Then the darkness ensued...

    ********************************************************************************************

There was the smell of ozone and hot wiring. He coughed and sneezed out the smells. His eyes opened and he saw things in an unusual way, but was too disoriented to care. He breathed in deeply then exhaled slowly. He was alive. He looked down on his body and noticed some scary changes had been done to him. As he searched around with his eyes he noticed what appeared to be others on tables in his proximity. One appeared to be the Marine sergeant from the totaled bunker on Guam. How long had he been out? He had a feeling that it'd been a while but not too long either. Terry heard something from outside a small entrance way. He fought nausea and dizziness while rising off his...surgical table. Apparently they had been repairing him or something like that. Then again he wasn't so sure he could call it that. His feet touched what he thought was the ground but it didn't feel like the ground. It felt like flesh instead. Terry looked down and nearly puked as he saw an alien with tentacles laying on the floor holding instruments and what appeared to be surgical tools. The dizziness passed as something within his body seemed to get activated and release some kind of relief into his system. He didn't know how he could know this but he did. They'd done some thing to him. Again he heard something, movement from outside the surgical room. Somebody asking for information...Then again, calling for Sprite. Anakowski tried stepping over the creature and only managed to slip on something very slick. He fell and made a racket for his troubles. He began taking an assessment of his situation and decided it was time to loose some wiring attached to his body for monitoring sensors or what ever they were. There design parameters were different enough that he was left confused as to what exactly they were.

"Hello? Please identify yourself!" he called.

As IS2 (EXW) Kittering, in Combat Information Center of USS Wisconsin (BB-64), en route to Challenger Deep region.

The second-class swirled the dregs of his hours-old Mountain Dew and downed it. In the cramped, stifling CIC, the tension could've been cut with a knife. The F- through K-bands, which the CTRs had proudly identified as the Covenant communications channels, had all but gone dead, replaced with what the beleaguered CTRSN stuck on watch for the past three days had described as "the dial-up sound, but more techno."

"So. . ." Kittering said, staring into the empty bottle, "everything's still working? Still getting stuff from us?"

"Yes, IS2," the SN said. The poor kid must've felt like he was on a firing squad. "The static isn't something the system would produce if it was nonfunctional. It would just be dead."

Kittering set the empty bottle on the table, turned heel and marched to the CDO office. Things were too urgent to knock.

"Sir," he addressed Lieutenant Commander Mitchell, "all traffic on all of the Covenant bands has stopped."

The officer's jaw went slack. "No way."

"I wish I was kidding, sir."

"Are you sure the equipment hasn't malfunctioned. . .?"

"The CTM shop looked it through and through, sir. Something has happened."

Commander Mitchell looked away from the enlisted spook, somewhere into space, then the phone.

"Officer of the Deck, this is the CIC Command Duty Officer, Lieutenant Commander Mitchell. We have a problem."

The core habitation for Spore 123 was intact. The Engineers had been crafty in assembling a very powerful emission coil for an EMP blast. The AI's integrity was intact as was the shield for just such an event. But the rest of the circuitry throughout the facility was compromised long enough to allow the uncaptured balance of the occupants to escape. Spore 123 had to reassert its control upon the facility. That would take time to accomplish this. In the mean time it would have to rebuild its network again. It commenced with great alacrity. First though it would have to take a different route with things. It would begin by adding mobility to its host body as well as rebuilding its network. It would also improve upon its ability to spread its influence to other systems and enslave them as well. Spore 123 had been monitoring other activity from around the planet. There was a war on between the two groups. An invasion of conquest to control this world. Good such events sewed confusion and Spore 123 was only too happy to propagate such confusion in order to spread its own influence and control. It would sample from those inhabitants still occupying the infirmary section of the facility to see if they made good subjects like the other species did.

When consciousness came to him, he did not know where he was. Gibbons' eyes adjusted in a few minutes though, and he found himself in a room, and knew in an instant it was no US military hospital, and his blood ran cold.

Nothing in the room, not the walls, not the door, nor the myriad equipment were even remotely human.

    Captured...

Fear crept up in him, and Gibbons started to retreat to a corner of the room, but that's when he saw the other two men.

    IC: Lieutenant Terry M. Anikowski.

Anilowski worked feverishly on removing all of the tubes and wires attached to his body until he was free from all of the constraining alien fixtures that came with the operating room. Apparently it had been a successful operation or he be dead, he's supposed. He would have to get out and find out what exactly had been done to him through human efforts such as cat scan, etc. In the mean time he'd have to make contact with whoever he could and team up with them. For all intents and purposes, Terry was in his birthday suite, but a chance look in the right direction spotted his combat suit with harness and gear stored away for safe keeping. He' donned his uniform and overlying Combat and rescue gear, then made his way cautiously into the adjoining room. There he saw a man who appeared to be a Japanese national by his manner. He was working his way along the wall towards the adjoining doorway between the two rooms. He looked as though he were having difficulty seeing with the low illumination.

"Don't be alarmed. Pardon me, but do you speak American English well or do you prefer to speak in Japanese?" He asked "I'm Lieutenant Terry Anikowski, US Air Force Para-Rescue Squadron 33, 18th Wing?Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Are you suffering from any injuries that you know of?" Asked Lieutenant Anikowski.

"Please step this way there seems to be at least one other man over here in my room. He's a Marine I was in the process of rescuing him back on Guam when it dropped in the pot. Are you in any kind of pain or discomfort?" he continued.

OOC: Ok, litterlad I could use a little more effort on your part, please.

"YEEEEE HHAAAWWW" ripped out over the flight deck as jets of water punched into the sky from the azure blue waters to the aft of the Carrier, "You see that boys?" Bull called out to the amour sheathed men standing with him "that is how you do it SON!" he said as he gave each a high five. The three laughed as they took turns getting used to their armours strange systems, Aussie honestly though he looked like something out of a computer game....and that suited him down to the ground. The three operators had undergone an intensive training regime under sprite 174, learning the ins and outs of the new system, and they had loved every minute of it, taking every opportunity to cause a bit of mischief to the point where the captain had them infront of his desk, the situation not being helped by Bull spitting chewing tobbacco on his carpet and Aussies insistence that he "Just bloody relax mate". However they were in the final stages of calibrating the weapons to their eyes and were about ready for their final briefing on the mission and who they were going to step on. Slipping their helmets off the three turned and chatted as the sprite 174 hoveredd nearby, "Its gotta be big and bloody suicide for them to dress us up like a freaking spartan" Aussie said with a lopsided grin, Tex nodded in agreement as he took a drink of water "It'll be backs to the wall for sure ya'll" he said consideringly, Bull just sighed deeply "ahhm hungry man and how the hell do i go to the john here...ma back teeth are floating here". The flight deck echoed with laughter and those standing by could hear the others start teasing him about "water falls" and "dripping taps" as he tried to open the lower torso of his armour to more laughter

Location: Forerunner Heavy Cruiser clamped to the Covenant recovery platform facility.

In Game: Spore 123 was well into transformation to its new form. The reserve of nanites it had contained was released so as to supplement their numbers by cannibalism of the surrounding source material from the facility. Once up to count they would switch to repairing the burnt out electronics used by the previous inhabitants. From there it would only be a matter of time before they'd complete their work in rebuilding and repairing from the damage brought about by the Covenant miscreants desperate act of sabotage. Then complete control would be achieved over the entire installation. From there Spore 123 could infest the Covenant Fleet through transmission again and supplement the virus already controlling the gunnery mounts through out the Covenant Fleet. It was all too easy.

OOC: Without further ado I give you the end result of quite a lot of Brainstorming with Van.

    - - -

    IC: Colonel Marcus McNeil
    Location: USS Abraham Lincoln
    Briefing Room

Marcus moved back and forth across the floor of the briefing room. In front of him stood 5 highly trained and deadly Marines from his hand picked squad. Each man on their own was a deadly weapon together they were a cohesive small fighting force that a couple of years ago might have been deployed in the Middle East.

Now however their eyes were locked forward at attention, and as much as their training dictated they have their eyes on him, their commander, he didn?t blame them for staring at what was behind them. ?These.? He said pointing to the six towering suits behind him, ?Are your new rifles. You all remember that little poem from boot?? He pointed to a stout marine, ?Anderson, refresh our memories.?

?Sir! Yes Sir!? The marine replied straightening up from an already well attentive stance. ?This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit. My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will. Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!?

As the marine finished Marcus nodded in approval. ?Very good Anderson.? Holding up the packet of papers he had in hand he motioned again towards the suits. ?These suits, Designated as USMC FENRIR/JÖRMUNGANDR Variable Assault Combat Suit Mod-9?s are the latest and greatest in combat engineering. Sometime back the USMC caught wind of one Hisashi Mori?s work on suits colourfully designated ?Iron Man?. They are being used by some of our compatriots, who are probably playing with their new toys as we speak.?

?These however, are not your run of the mill Iron Man suits. No-sir-re-bob. When the Corps got a hold of the suits design schematics we did what we do best. Me made it deadlier.? Moving to stand beside one of the suits he made a hand gesture to make sure all the Marines were paying attention to him. ?Now, the design is the same as the Iron Man for the most part but there has been copious amounts of ?Yankee Ingenuity? poured into these suits.?

?As you can well see,? he started pointing towards the forearm, shin and torso areas, ?The suit has had additional armor added to several key locations to increase damage absorption potential. The Shins, Forearms, and back sections are protected, in addition to the standard ?Plasonic-Beryllium-Titanium? armor plating, one sixteenth of an inch thick Titanium plate armor. It is light, it is strong, but it is not fool poof.?

He then gestured to the joints of the arms legs and shoulders. ?As agility is key in the combat situations in which we marines are deployed the joints have been redesigned to increase mobility. Nano-composite titanium fibers,?as Marcus said the word Nano-composite he saw several eyes gloss over, but it was only a moment before they came back into focus. ?These fibers are mailable, like fabric, but strong like steel. They will protect you, and allow you to move more freely, but do not let that get to your head.?

    Marcus patted the suit?s c
