Agreed, Lucasfilm is doubling down on all her positive TCW feedback. Will be interesting to see how they piece together Ahsoka's involvement.
Timelines are lightspeed skipping, a few years after ROTJ, and then rumors of her in live action prior to ANH.

 

There goes that darn high ground again

 

I fully admit, when Ashoka was introduced, I wasn't a fan.

Now I've finished the final season, I've totally come round. I love how they used her character to explore how the Jedi order had become so warped from its intended purpose. Her character development really pulls the Jedi Council off their pedestal in a way that episode 3 didn't really manage to do. In Episode 3 it feels, at least for me, that Sideous' rise is a foregone thing that the council can't do anything about, whereas the end seasons of the Clone Wars TV show really highlights the failings high up in the order that led to/sped up the republic's collapse.

It's awesome knowing that a kids tv show isn't afraid to show that adults, moreover trusted adults, can get it so wrong, and all through loosing their compassion. I love how compassionate Ashoka is and how that drove her decisions throughout the story, including choosing to leave the order, not via the dark side but owing completely to her own convictions- something that I never thought I'd ever see a character do on screen. (I know Dooku also left the order, but his own situation was far easier as he'd just inherited his title, lands and a large fortune. Ashoka left with next to nothing!)

I'm looking forward to watching Rebels and seeing some more of her.
