Gaming Haptic Feedback in Black (and a Trenchcoat): The PlayStation 5 Discussion Thread

Fairly sure I hate you if you have a PS5. Mid April now and nada.

I wouldn't buy it full price but, depending on what transfers from run to run as progress, Returnal sounds like it could be quite the PS5 exclusive.

Their previous work? Resogun is superb. Matterfall was smart but required more dexterity than I have, with Nex Machina being similar. Both are very good, just not for me - I enjoyed the earlier levels of Nex Machina far more than later ones.

Hence why I'm wary of Returnal but still intrigued by it. Also, the only other roguelike I've played, Everspace, I enjoyed a lot. Didn't expect to but I did. ....Well, most of the time.

If i had a PS5 i’d get that.

How does the PS5 backward compatibility work? I put in a PS4 disk and it says unreadable? I have tried to look this up

 

Which game have you tried?

It should play most discs fine.

 

I've had no issues with any ps4 game on the 5. The only time I have had issues has been my fault as the disk was dirty

Maybe the disc was just bad. I tried fallout 4 as it was the closest disc to me. I’ll try some others later

 

I think there's been an issue after this recent PS5 update. I've seen stuff saying some games are suddenly not playing.

Last time I tried it, it was fine but that was pre-update.

Check your library, it'll say if a game is PS4 only.

 

Also I must say. I really like the controller design

Nah not yet. I started downloading some of my digital library and am heading out to do some stuff. I’ll check it out later

 

Along with AC Valhalla, it shows off the controller very well.

 

Definitely at least check out Astros. The haptics will be great.

 

Gave it a little check astros already seems fun and I have barely done anything. I love how the controller makes noise now.

Yeah I would follow Wario 64. He's where I got my legit links to the PS5s I bought.

 

I did yesterday plus this Swider dude. I hope the links are $499. Still seeing asshats trying to get $1300 on Walmart.

 

Walmart and PS demand or whatever it’s called usually sell for 499. The rest do bundles. Amazon didn’t restock when I was trying so I don’t know if they sell in bundles or not. Although check them out that might change.

 

He's talking about third party resellers on the Walmart website. Definitely don't buy from those. Wario64 lists when proper stores have restock that you can buy from at 499.
