I'm asking because I've never had softboiled and I'm curious. What are they like?

I get the sense that the UK does softboiled because they have bad taste, which is one reason I've avoided them.

Isn't soft-boiled just regular eggs? The heck is soft-boiled??

You don't boil eggs. You scramble them.

    Hard, by the way.

Scrambled is my usual choice, but occasionally I'll boil them for convenience. I also love omelettes, my go-to when I have nothing to cook.

I don't even like scrambled much. I like over hard for pan eggs.

I like both, but I like soft boiled only when the white is hard and the yolk is soft.

As an aside, the Countess Yubnub has some quail; hardboiled quail eggs are good in salad. But I've never tried those soft-boiled.

I never eat boiled eggs or omelettes. Over-medium is my preference at a restaurant, but if I’m at home, always scrambled.

My gran always made scrambled. Country breakfasts.

So when you eat a softboiled egg, you bite into runny yolk? Does it all spill out? See, I don't quite grasp what it will be like.

I like both. Hard-boiled is easier, less mess, and you don't have to worry about getting the timing just right.

I haven't had ramen in many years. I'll try to remember to try it the next time I do.

I don't like eggs in salad. I'll throw one in at times if I'm trying to bulk up, but I don't enjoy it.

Soft boiled if you want to dip in your soldiers.

They should always be hot, or at least warm.

I’ve yet to demistyfy the American fried egg; over easy, hard over easy, sunny side up.

it’s a fried egg, stop complicating the matter!

Hardboiled over soft. Great for late mornings.

But...fried, over medium, cooked in a little butter, with pepper and red chili flakes. Preferably in a sandwich with sausage. Or as an omelette with spinach and cheese.

Scrambled or omelettes only. Any type of fried or either type of boiled are all gross to me...

My dad was a short order cook in the air force in the 70s. Made the best breakfasts. Fried eggs were spicy and almost melt in your mouth.

My mom on the other hand, couldn't heat soup without ruining it...would make Fried eggs so burnt the edges were crispy black plastic.
