"Very well Professor, I think she is in the bathroom...." James walks out of the Great Hall. "Wow I hope I didn't make her cry or anything." James said to himself. "James started heading up the stairs towars the closest Girls bathroom.

IC: Serj Tankian
The Great Hall

Serj was in the middle of a story, when Professor Finnegan burst into the Great Hall. He announced that there were three redcaps on the loose. Serj frowned. They must?ve been the ones that he and Kendrix had been working with earlier. Serj was further surprised when the professor singled out him and Kendrix to help him find them.

"Miss McCully, Mr. Tankien, would you care to join me? You took care of these creatures this, morning and I believe that three wands are better than one. Thank You"

Serj nodded when Kendrix agreed to go. He followed them both. After instructing James Potter to find a friend, Professor Finnegan starting walking away without further instruction. Serj caught up with him and questioned in his Irish drawl.

?Where should we be looking for the Redcaps, professor??

IC: Professor Finnegan

James Potter started to go on his own when another student came to him offering his help, Chandler Billings. He stated many things that sounded like excerpts from books and little persoanl expereince, but he decided that he didn't want little James on his own.
"Fine, fine. You may go too. Watch your back," said Seamus watching after the apt student.

?Where should we be looking for the Redcaps, professor?? said Mr. Tankein.

"Uhh you two can start in the dungeons and the area around the kitchens. They usually like darker places. Good luck but I doubt you will be needing it," finished Seamus. "This should be simple," he thought to himself. He just hoped nobody got hurt because of his lack of attention.

 

IC: Chandler Billings

Chandler left the Great Hall soon after he was granted permission to go after the Red Caps. He immediatly left to check out the more shadow ridden areas of the castle, the dungeons being his first place. He heard some scurrying, and investigated, only to see a couple rats scurry past him. "Hmm, best go further, Lumos." he said, his wand tip lit up and illuminated the remaining area. He then took a turn and heard something far to large to be a rat, he whipped around just in time to see one of the Red Caps leaping at him, club swinging madly. "Stupefy!" Chandler shouted, aiming the spell right at the Red Cap's chest, the ensuing blast sent the creature flying and crashing into a nearby wall, it then fell with a loud thud. "That was a tad to close for my taste. Incarcerous." he added, and soon ropes appeared and bound the Red Cap. "Wingardium Leviosa." he continued, and he then levitated the Red Cap into the air before him and began escorting it back to the Great Hall, where he still hoped Professor Finnegan was.

IC: Amarantha Williams
En Route to Great Hall

Still a few flights up from the Great Hall, Amarantha suddenly paused on the stairs, a frown on her face. She was certain she had heard something, but as she cast about searching for the source, she saw nothing out of place. Shrugging her shoulders, she dismissed it and continued down the stairs.

Then, out of nowhere, something collided with her, and a heavy blow contacted the side of her head. "OW!" Briefly dazed, it was a few seconds before her vision cleared, revealing an ugly, goblin-like creature rushing at her with a club. She raised her wand in an instant, and, taking careful aim, shouted, "Expelliarmus! The creature's club went flying over the banister. As the creature watched its weapon falling away, Amarantha lost no time in taking advantage of the distraction. "Petrificus Totalus! The creature fell over and lay on the stairs, stiff as a board and completely immobilized. Cautiously nearing the creature, she realized that it was a Red Cap--Professor Finnegan had had some in a cage in his classroom during their lesson today; he'd said he'd had his seventh years working with them earlier that morning. Apparently they'd escaped.

Amarantha pointed her wand at the Red Cap once more. "Mobilicorpus." The immobile Red Cap lifted off the stairs, hovering a few inches from the ground, and Amarantha began to steer it down the stairs. Only now that the excitement was over did she notice a warm wetness on her face. Reaching up with her free hand, she found that her temple was bleeding where she had been struck with the Red Cap's club. Pulling out a handkerchief, she held it to the wound while she maneuvered the creature down the stairs with her wand.

Finally reaching the small chamber outside the Great Hall, she saw Professor Finnegan with a couple of seventh-years, a Gryffindor third-year whose name she couldn't place, and James.

"Professor," she called. "I think this is yours."

IC: Professor Finnegan

"Professor," she called. "I think this is yours."

Professor Finnegan turned to see Amarantha Williams floating an unconscious Redcap towards him. "Yes, yes that is mine.Thank heavens you took care of yourself. We were somewhat worried about you," said Seamus starting to relax. "Ohh but wait! It looks like he got you with his club. Yes he did. My I am sorry. Why don't you go to the hospital wing to have that looked at. 10 points for Gryffindor and again I can't thank you though for taking care of this little guy," gesturing towards the red cap. "Off you go."

As soon as Miss. williams turned to go get her head checked, another levitating little red devil was making his way towards him. This time, Chandler Billings was strollling happily in it's wake.

"And that makes two defeated. Another 10 points to Gryffindor. Good work Mr. Billings. Now we just need to hope that Miss McCully and Mr. Tankien subdue the third one," concluded Seamus with a slightly more relieved look on his face than twenty minutes ago.

OOC: Does everyone here find participating in this worthwhile? I personally loved this game when there were lots of people involved, but it lost some appeal now that only 5 or 6 of us do it. If you guys are going sto stay dedicated and have fun while playing, not just out of sympathy for me, then I will gladly continue. If not, I'm afraid it might be time to end this dying game, as hard as it is to say it. :-(. Let me know along with your upcoming posts.

 

OOC: I think it'd be better to have the game follow a older group of witches and wizards instead of only kids at the school.

James watched as Amarantha appeared in the Great Hall. James then noticed she was bleeding. "Amarantha are you ok." James asked running over. "Did the red cap get you?"

OOC: I think it would be better if everyone was in the same year, that way there would be more interaction, and more people would share classes. Another thing is that it's hard to keep things going when there isn't a lot of action. One last thing, there has to be more interaction between others, one way to do that would be to form clubs or something, maybe even a dueling one like in CoS, or even something like the DA, that way you could do more with everyone having a chance to participate.

 

OOC: I think that it would help to introduce adult characters outside of Hogwarts (it's not a Harry Potter game without Harry Potter), get the original plot moving (what is the significance of the Wishing Feather, why does Danton want it, does the Ministry know about it, how does it involve Hogwarts, etc[see page 13]) Also, I would suggest PMing people who haven't posted lately to see if they are still playing at all, but we do have to consider that it is the holiday season, and a lot of us (myself included) are probably busy dealing with RL issues (work, school, etc) that have to come before recreation.

In regards to interaction between characters (brought up by chanbill), LeiaHair stated that she never intended for us to spend a lot of time in classes anyway, focusing more time on lunch, evenings, weekends, holidays, etc, so that we do have the chance to interact.

That said, I also think that it wouldn't hurt to pick up the pace a little and have a few time jumps (I'm talking days, not just an hour or so) in updates. The first in-game post was on July 25th, it's now Dec. 2nd. Over four months and twenty pages into the game, and we're still only half-way through the first day of classes. At this rate, Hogwarts will be celebrating Halloween when it's Easter in RL.

I'm not trying to criticize or offend anyone here, these are just my opinions/suggestions. I'm done now.

"I'm fine," she told him. "I'm just going to have Madam Pomfrey look at it. I'll meet you in Charms, you don't have to follow me."

James shruggs. "Ok, if you say so." James watches as Amarantha heads for Madam Pomfrey before turning around and begins to head to Charms. James reached the grand staircase and begins to climb.

OOC: I agree with JMA.

Specifically, with the fact that we should introduce a group of adults into the game. I think that you should PM the absent players, which until just now was me, asking whther they would like to rejoin teh game as a hogwarts child or as an adult in the main plot.

As I do not know the plot I cannot say anything for sure, but I assume you have a bad guy that will be involved, maybe the Danton character, but I think you should have the adult line center around finding out about the enemy and potentially restarting the Order of the Phoenix. If you can introduce that group, then i think the game should start to grow.

As another suggestion, maybe you should PM NP about changing the title of the game. If you plan on doing that, I would erase the still excepting new players and have her make it say looking for adult characters.

Now to apologize, I am still not able to post regularly, so you are going to have avoid my plot for now and just focus on Leigh's.

 

OOC: All of these suggestions are good, but require a lot of work. If we want to do that, which you all seem to do, I don't think I could be GM anymore. If anyone would like to take over that would be great, just PM me. I would still contribute as my own character/s because this is really fun when it's moving. So just let me know.

 

OOC: I'd GM but like the class Defense Against the Dark Arts the HP rpg's have a curse on the Rpg's Gm's....all who have taken it have been forced to leave the Force boards for one reason or another. Leah Hair lasted the longest but she was having problems the entire time.

Hogwarts Hallway

The young first year look down the flight of stairs that would bring him to his first class of the day...granted it really should have been his second. Taking a deep breath he made his way down towards his potions class. Most of the student had already made there way down. Carefully he entered the room and noticed the proffesor was already getting ready for the class. Then before he could take his seat the doors shut as the class begain.

OOC: Honestly I think this rpg should be locked and recreated with an older group outside of Hogwarts...Maybe focus on a new order of the Phinox lead by Harry Potter with a second group who follow a new Voldermort (But only in name) or some other dark wizard who has risen and following in Voldermorts footsteps.

What do you all think?

 

I think maybe we should be a different witch and wizard academy so that we don't have as many technicalaties and guidelines.

I agree, I think this one should be locked and a new one started. Maybe one with a death eater looking for a weapon, or some way to bring Voldemort back. If that happens, I'd love to join!

I was in some of the last HP games and have followed this one almost the whole time and a suggestion had been made that you could be a different school so there wouldn't be as many guidelines and I think that would be a good spin on the story. I would be willing to join if a new thread was started and I think some others would be too!
