Hey Newbies, what is your favorite Star Wars movie?

I had to vote for AOTC. I think it does so much in terms of developing what was laid out in TPM and I have a lot of respect for the story, the actors, and the richness of the plot. It also enables me to appreciate ROTJ even more (I used to HATE ROTJ), knowing more about Anakin's motivations. Now, ROTJ resonates with sadness and truly deep characters, where I hadn't ever seen it that way before (I am 34 and have been a fan since the Star Wars reissue screenings in the early 80s prior to ESB). I think it adds a lot to the series and its overall story arc.

AOTC and ESB are definitely the saga's strongest films...until we see what ROTS has in store for us.

 

I love return of the jedi it is the defineing moment in anakin skywalker life when he brings balance to the force for now may force be with you.

 

ROTJ is coolest movie of all.Luke in black is awsome.

 

A new hope's great, i cant beleive yus peoples dont like the 2nd best movie of all time here! Return of the jedi does not have enough blasters and its easy to remember what goes on that movie.

It's more dramatic. It doesn't try to blow you away with a ton of information. Even the directing is a lot better then the new ones.

 

My favorite won't be out for another 284 days, 5 hours, 10 minutes, and 47 seconds (according to my desktop countdown clock)!

 

ROTJ for now but I think ROTS will end up being my favorite.

 

RotJ is the greatest movie ever filmed.

RETURN OF THE JEDI BABY!!!!!!!! OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

i still remember watching it when i was younger. i saw it the first time on tv, and it was amazing. i still get excited; goosebumps, butterflies in my stomach, that tingly feeling in my toes- when i watch it. seeing all their hard work pay off, finally defeating (kind of) the empire, i love it when the good guy finally wins. and the scenes with luke and vader, and luke and leia, and all that stuff . . . I LOVE ROTJ!!

Always Empire. One of the best films ever made.

 

It would have to be...Attack of the Clones, without a shadow of a doubt. I mean, it has Yoda fighting for the frist time using his Lightsaber . How awesome is that?

 

Return of the Jedi!
It was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater at the tender age of 2 1/2. One of my earliest memories is seeing Jabba the Hut on the big screen and not being scared.

 

The original - A New Hope for me. Perhaps a new newbie poll should be made next year after Revenge of the Sith is out.

I voted for ANH, but ESB is a really close second. Yesterday I might have voted for ESB, it all depends on the mood I'm in...
Surprised that so many thinks that ROTJ is the best one. But I can understand the thing with Luke in black.

Now that I think about it, ROTJ is really great too.
Do I have to choose just one??

TESB is my fav! Vader reaching his hand out to Luke saying "I am your father" is so powerful.

 

It would be very hard for me to pick just one movie as my favorite...I love them all. I voted for AOTC though...because that movie just sets everything up for Anakin to become Vader. It really shows the anger that Anakin posessed and the reasons why he chose to follow the path to the dark side. But when ROTS comes out I think that will be my fav. I can't wait to see Anakin become the Vader we all love to hate!

 

ESB - without a shadow of a doubt. I'm hoping RotS can top it, though
