I liked her delivery of her "memories" lines because it makes sense that she'd be hazy and relaxed when talking about that. Her "I'm not what you think I am" line did underwhelm, though- probably the only nitpick of the trailer for me.

However, I suspect most of her lines have been chopped together from different parts of the film in a way to make it kinda seem like one scene so that they could use it to tell the story of the trailer, but hey'll all come across better in context. Case in point: the "not what you think" line is clearly not meant to be a precursor to her about to light-up so she's not delivering it in a way that comes across as a warning or declaration of badassery, but rather simply to set up the shot for general audiences being introduced to her powerset fo the first time in this trailer.

though I think your mid-credits idea will actually be a subplot in the movie itself.

However, I don't think they'll show the destruction of Xandar and anyone starting to dust there for a couple reasons:

1) It would be very odd to have CM act as a prequel and sequel to GOTG, especially if it is ultimately intended to be viewed first. You'd have them signing a treaty, Xandar getting devastated (and people getting dusted), then we jump to GOTG1 and Xandar is fine (with no explanation about the dusting). The time gap may not be that obvious in that situation, if at all.

2) The destruction of Xandar was in the opening to the IW script originally before they decided to drop the sequence. They would have been developing/filming CM not long after that so they probably wouldn't have planned around using that as their "hook" stinger but rather something more unique.

However, I could see them doing a scene on a Kree world or some other location relevant to CM's story (I'm assuming Xandar isn't a key factor given she already has Earth and Kree plotlines/locations to deal with) and people could start getting dusted- that way the "hook" ends up being similar to AM2's- it only spoils IW if you have already been spoiled about IW/told it relates to IW.

I honestly think the beeper will be saved for A4's opening- IW and A4 have to make that connection (heh) on their own, which is even more likely given that they were written together.

 

Got to be poor editing, I agree. She's a superb actress, but every line she delivers in the trailer sounds absolutely terrible. Unforced error.

 

I had a few theories myself:

 

In the name of international diplomacy and future good relations with the Wookiees, I'll replace the correctly-formatted-date with something that won't confuse those hailing from lands of extra "U"'s.
