JCC [Hobby Time] Escape Rooms

How often do you do these now? Once a month? More than that? And how many people are with you?

 

Well I can't do anymore for awhile as I have to save money since my work has shortened my hours.

But least once a month or twice. We like to do them. Usually just me and my brother but we have gotten an old friend to join us on several now so just three.

 

So tonight for a final thing to do before I go, me, my bro and a friend did a room, Silo. Much like the Soecial Ops room, you got to disarm a nuclear bomb...but I think we blew up Moscow. We passed though.

Special milestone: it was the 10th room we passed. So yay

 

Make it 11 passed. Redid Gold Rush with my church group and completed it with 26 minutes left. So very good. May be my last one I do before I leave for the military but a friend wants to do the Le Feu room monday so we will see. She just has to find out if she has any plans first

So when I get home next week we plan on doing some escape rooms. Probably finish off the two places with the only rooms we have left there. The Prison Break and Ripper rooms which are the hardest at their locations.

Though randomly I got an invitation to a new escape room in a different location to like their Facebook page. They have 6 rooms and seem interesting. May check them out in future.

Also need to redo that Enigma one...third time is the charm right?

No actually but funnily enough at this new location I found one of their rooms deals with containing a virus

 

Why not wait to do one until this summer?

 

Because I'll be limited in what I can do being on a base. I may not be in my home state or even nearby to come home. So I'll spend as much time with my family as I can.

 

So we went to Project: Escape and did two rooms. We passed the Knight's Quest, which was our 2nd attempt to do so.

But failed the Nautilus room, which is their hardest room. Oh well, next time. That is probably one of my favorite rooms though. But its got one of the most complex puzzles ever.

 

So did two at a new place today. Did a Lost in Time one and Air Raid one.

Failed both.

Oh well, gotta do better next time

 

I heard of a new one today called "Escape the Wretched Chains of Mortal Existence." I thought it was going to be some kind of mystical archaeology adventure through an ancient Buddhist temple or something. Turns out the solution was actually to keep visiting small enclosed spaces with a bunch of people at the peak infection rate of the most deadly and widespread viral pandemic in all of human history.

 

Ironically the new place has a virus room. They've had it for a few years before this even hit.

Its been a popular room they said since it hit

 

So we can say people that do escape rooms currently are ironic or idiots?

 

For supporting small business and helping people have a job? No, I don't think they're dumb at all

 

For gathering in enclosed spaces, during a global pandemic, yes, they are indeed idiots.

 

So since I did an escape room today I'll place that info here. Did one called "Cold Storage", I guess inspired by the Saw 3 movie as a cover for it had a photo from it.

It did have somethings in Korean, NY friend tried translation but did get stuck on a clue which cost us. So we failed but will try again sometime. Maybe do one tomorrow.
