Really puts a new spin on pulling the plug.

 

I dig Bernthal's Punisher and think he's far and away the best part of Marvel's weak-ish Netflix efforts, but this is pretty reminiscent of a certain Keanu Reeves franchise.

 

So, I've been behind on GoT for a while now, but I reached the Red Wedding, My reactions:
NOOO!!! WHY!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!! PLEASE! NOOOOOO!

 

Main computer still dead. Im rebuilding it. But Im on my laptop now....

Boy has that show been going off the rails lately.

 

I read an interesting g review of the current season lately, saying that GoT in the end is the classical story of a chosen one against a Dark Lord. They just took hell of a detour to get to the point where this classical (and not so complex) conflict takes center stage.

It isn't "Sopranos meet Lord of the Rings" anymore. It is good vs evil with a few greyish characters thrown in to make it more interesting. I don't know what to think of it. The existence of the White Walkers made it necessary go down that road sooner or later. But I liked the War of Five Kings with all it's complexity much better as a viewing experience. This is too much of a "weekly blockbuster" for my taste.

 

Weekly blockbusters would be fine if the characters' actions and motivations made a lick of sense. Which they mostly don't anymore. It's pretty obvious that, having surpassed the far better written source material, HBO's put this thing on the fast track to its conclusion, plot consistency be damned.

 

I miss that game, even that kinda game around here.

I'm waiting for my old GM (Star Wars: Intervention) to imminently launch a game; if I wasn't, I would be doing a character sheet for your thing. *shrugs*

Edit: By coincidence, the three games I was in, ceased to be active at the time of the last RPF Awards, so I could not participate.

One of my games is running this time, so I can do some nominations.

 

Wow. For the amount of interest I got here, I still got little to no actual visitors to my thread joining.

 

Hello ActRaiser, welcome to the boards.

Actually people around here have a tendency to join games of people they know a little (there are exceptions). So I would always advise to start around here by joining games and get to know a few people, before cold-starting a GM career and just post a game.
