How did the Empire build up between ANH-ESB?

Isard's Revenge is my favourite cover (Love AT-ATs!). But Shadows of the Empire, from the Nominees.

On the previous vote, I have no idea how Dark Empire could be said to be less original than the Jedi Academy. But anyway...

 

The Thrawn trilogy is a prime candidate.

 

Vector Prime, the Yuzahn Vong on the cover looks soooo cool!

 

SOTE. Dunno why, I just like it. And lUke looks gorgeous on it too :-D

 

I'd have to say Vector Prime for its originality. Chewbacca's image on the back is cool and Luke finally looks as old as he is in the book.

 

Okay were back and that topic sure got a lot of votes. As I was tallying the scores I thought there would be a 3 way tie! Eeek! I started to get nervous but at the last minute I, Jedi was out of the winner's standings. Now it is between Shadows of the Empire or Vector Prime

and it is up to you to decide the winner...

Vision of the Future takes my vote. I liked Onslaught but it was severly handicapped by VP. I just can't deal with snakes deflecting lightsabers.

Okay were back at the EU Awards. Before we took a short break there was a tie-breaker represented for Best Cover Illustration.

Okay it was hard to describe each nominee but I did my best.

Darksaber definitely. I'm sure they could of thought of a better name. And those things with the legs that built it freaked me out. eek.gif eek.gif

 

By "Ghost Fleet" do you mean the Katana Fleet or the Fallanassi illusions from the BFC?

 

Or Xaverri's phantom fleet from The Hutt Gambit?

I don't see anything wrong with the World Devastators. The destruction the droids caused at the Senate was rather gross, so my vote goes to the oversized bubble gun, the Darksaber.

 

The Darksaber. I liked the rest of the book, but come on, KJA's done 2 diff Death Star rehashes. Plus, has anyone else done another?

 

Hmmm....

I would say Darksaber, because come on...it lasted about five minutes when it was supposed to be operational. And it did squat to the New Republic fleet.

 

Darksaber gets my vote, but only because it didn't work. At least the other superweapons did.

 

While the Dark Saber weapon turned out to be full of hot air, I have to say I did enjoy the building of it and the death of Crix Madine. There was enough there to redeem it from being the worst super weapon. I think that the exploding droids from The New Rebellion were a bit too out of reach. Your trying to tell me that there are no scanners or droid repair facilities that would have picked up the fact that these droids were all wired to blow? And the sabotaging of the X-Wings? Come on. It only took a young snot nosed mechanic from Tatooine to spot them. Nobody else was double checking the work that these crazy little saboteurs was doing? Lame. I bought the idea while I read the book because I had to in order to get through it. I don't need to buy it anymore.

That was pretty bad. I think KJA kind of lost focus on that book. Or it could just be the loss of a writing ability but thats another thread.

There are a lot but I think we all have a good idea of the one we liked the best. I also didn't want to offend anybody because of the nominations.

Pick the best lightsaber, space battle ect... scene you like.
