I discovered this place after looking through Star Wars fan site and stumbled across TFN and the boards. I lurked for a while before joining.

I read a newspaper article about a new SW fanfilm called TROOPS. The article listed a URL that led me here. Well, not here exactly, but wherever here was before the site moved here.

Through TheForce.net, when I was searching for any SW info while waiting for ROTS to finish production.

I can't remember when I found it, but I was probably looking for Star Wars info and discussion while procrastinating in my college dorm room in the late 90s/early 2000s. :D

I was looking for a place to RPG via text. I had been doing Star Trek RPGs through email...yeah...email. And came to TFN looking for a Star Wars alternative.

It all started back in...uhm....2010 (????). I was in the burning desire of looking for more SiriWan fanfictions when I found the old TFN, it had an awesome SiriWan fanfictions archive which I was head over heels for, at the same time I found out that TFN also had a forum, so I decided to sign up. But unfortunately for me, I signed up in the middle of the renovation. :p So I ended up with joining JCTF (the temp forum that we had during the renovation)....and so my JCF journey began.

Looking for news on Episode 1, stumbled across the Theforce.net, and while on the site noticed that they also had a message board.

I have no memory of how I discovered the Jedi Council. I do know I joined from a library computer using my half-hour of free internet access (plus another 30 minutes if nobody else reserved the next time slot!). I was a huge EU fan at the time, so I naturally wanted to look up Star Wars related sites online. Wow. 20 years ago tomorrow... Simpler times...

I first came across the forum when I was looking for a good place to learn more about the Star Wars universe and to gain an insight into how different people interpreted different scenes. At first, I was far too preoccupied with reading than to sign up as a member, and my own knowledge of Star Wars at that point was severely limited. Finally I took the plunge and joined and I can't say I regret doing so. :)

I was sailing the internet looking for a new shortcut to porn. After landing here, I decided to claim I had discovered it despite it already being occupied by numerous people and existing since 1998.

So long ago. Well the year was 2004, the prequel buzz I guess was in full swing. This was a year before Wookiepedia even existed, a great number of SW games were released during that time. Anyone remember SW Gamer Magazine? It was awesome. There never seemed to be a dull moment between Ep II to III. It was I would say a pretty good time to be a fan. Lots of fanfilms released in that time are still some of my favorites. I registered on the boards to try and connect with local fans, it seemed tough back in those days. Now we have all kinds of social media, SW events, and a new generation of fans. It's nice to look back though at where it all began.

Whilst I have reasonable knowledge of the GFFA, it's not even close to what the experts on here know!

Basically I just came on here to further my knowledge by acquiring other fans' perspectives and thoughts about all things Star Wars.....

    ....and I love it [face_party]

I discovered the JC at Uni in '98 on the hunt for SW info. Back then it was more chilled and more basic! My history got lost somewhere between migrations hence my May 2000 register date (I actually joined in '98). Don't post very often anymore as most of the people I interacted with have long gone and we can get info from so many other places now. I was even a manager for a while :)

I remember lurking ever since I first got a cellphone-sixth grade. I didn't join until six years later but I was very aware of the forum.

I remember eagerly following debates and such even if I couldn't participate and reading discussions which made me even more intrigued and interested that I considered it an amazing blessing when I finally did join in 2016.

I've been enjoying reading everyone's responses and recollections. :) I am a relative noob, having joined the JCF in February 2014, and I first found it by way of fan fiction stories by TrakNar (whose username no longer seems to be taggable for some reason). When I saw what a friendly, festive, and positive place Fanfic was, I decided it would be a good place for my own attempts at fanfic, which I had never posted anywhere before. JCF Fanfic is still my favorite (for the most part only) place for posting stories, and I love the high level of discourse combined with the friendly atmosphere.

I didn't know you were on Rebelscum! So am I, though I haven't been there since 2008 or 2009 or so because I haven't been all that active in customizing/collecting since them. Now I want to go back...!

I've checked TrakNar's ID and I don't see a reason why she can't be tagged. However she hasn't been here since early 2017 - maybe IDs with an older last login date can't be tagged. Just a guess..

I stumbled here around 2012 when I was about 14/15. Didn't really click with me tho so I never came back until 2015 when I was 17. I got into the conversations and decided a month before TFA dropped to join when I was 18. Been here ever since and I absolutely love the community here. SW is escapism for me and this place helps me have fun.

I was on AOL at the time looking for Star Wars fanfic. It didn't take long for me to land here and a whole new galaxy of wonder opened up. I lurked on all the boards for over a year before I thought I could handle posting around here. Back then, I remember n00bs being called out on their 'n00b'-ness, so I was cautious. Always loved it here, met a lot of great people that turned into real life friends. This was always the best place to be for Star Wars anything!

    Happy Anniversary JCF![face_party][face_dancing]^:)^:bluesaber::falcon::cool:=D=
It's weird how I look for the emoji set on here to be on my phone and wonder why it's not. [face_dunno]
