JCC How has the JC forums changed in the past 16 years??? (1999 registered member here)

I registered here when I was a teenager right after TPM came out.

I haven't posted regularly since around 2003. Then I came back a couple times to talk about the TPM Plinkett review.

What have been the biggest changes in this forum in terms of atmosphere, posting style, attitudes, rules, etc?

Would it be considered inappropriate for me to make a post like this? (Now take it easy on me, I was just a teen and those were different times.)

This place is more welcoming nowadays. Unless your first post in the forums lands in the pic thread.

 

I will second that one. Back in the early 2000s, looking from the outside as a FF member, the JCC was a community of its own, and often didn't quite have open arms. I jumped into this board in 2018 with no expectations and for a reason I can't even remember, but aside from one person who looked at the registration date and berated me because I was "supposed to know the rules" in the specific Senate topics, nobody questioned me posting here; on the contrary, I felt quite welcome.

 

It seems a lot calmer here compared to when those early days.

I avoided this entire site for years because I just assumed it would be the same as in 1999-2003, but to my surprise it's generally civil. I guess the more argumentative posters have moved to other discussion forums to quench their thirst for senseless arguing

are you talking about the JC boards in general or just the JCC?

When I first came here in '03 I mainly stuck to the movie boards , arguing about which prequel was worse . And you had to be careful about trashing the prequels , the majority defended them, we had the Basher's Sanctuary and even that wasn't safe from the purge. ,
so yeah that's changed ! trash it all you want now .

Yeah I'm talking about the entire forum as a whole. That is hilarious that there was a "Basher's Sanctuary".

The movies section was a riot with Go-Mer. I have suspicions that he is on bluray.com continuing his schtick with a new name.

I don't wanna bash the prequels because they gave us Plinkett and RLM. Their nerd crew episode 1 is so hilarious so I'll always be grateful to them just for that

I think he gets the opposite. Did you read the posts he referred to? I think he was hoping he could still discuss which actresses need to gain ten pounds to get up to his standards.

 

Hi. I'm from 1999. Back in 1999 I was an expert on all the movie nude scenes of 1999. And not just 1999! I had an encyclopedic knowledge of nude scenes from 1998 and 1997 too.
