How would you rate 'The Phantom Menace' (10 being highest)

Nine out of ten. Basically the same I rate all the Star Wars films. They're my favorite films by far, but they're not perfect. Nothing is. But Star Wars is VERY close.

TPM just wasn't Star Wars quality stuff, though it was still a great movie. Compared to the others it's only half as good, so a strong 5

 

The trilogy is the icon of all movies, they are the gauge we use to rate other movies.

AND frankly, TPM just didn't measure up.

I don't believe it would have had half of it's succes had we not been anticipating it for 20 years.

HOWEVER, It is still STAR WARS and definatley better than most anything else.

 

8 is a nice round number. That's what I give TPM.

 

Somewhere around a 6.

 

I really loved what TPM had to offer. I also liked that fact that it dared to be different from the OT movies, while keeping a lot of what was familiar to me. It may not be a perfect film, but it literally made me gasp several times when I first saw it, as well as making me really thing about the implications of what the story was showing.

Hopefully in the years to come peopel will start to see more of what I believe Lucas was tryingto accomplish with the movie.

I want Jar Jar and Jake Lloyd dead! Especially after seeing JL behind the scenes on the DVD - cocky little sod!

 

Even though it has flaws I'll still give it 10.

 

In relation to the other Star Wars movies, I'd give it a 6. It established some of the necessary storylines and concepts, but it tried too hard to showcase the technology instead of using it to simply add to the enjoyment and credibility of a scene.

A six. It was a good, entertaining film, but it could have been better. Mind you, I'll probably change my mind by the time Episode III is released.

Two years ago I would have given it an 8. It hasn't worn very well with me so I have to give it a high 6.
