Poetry is my first love, and I finally got up the courage to post this little poem. Thank you for reading. I am a Shadow Dweller I am a desert dweller. I do not know of rain or snow. I know the softness of a mother?s touch, Not the firmness of a father?s loving tone. I feel a thousand suns blaze within me, I feel my soul expand, take flight. I do not love the darkness Though it?s there I feel at home. Can no one see the difference? Can no one tell I burn? The light, it does not love me, Though it would embrace me if I chose. My soul must dwell in shadow, The shadows over take me, and swallow me up whole. Is there nothing left to save me? Is there nothing good inside? I lose my grip on that ray of light, And plummet to the end. I am a shadow dweller, I do not know of hope or light.
