On this lazy hangover Sunday, the wife and I just watched all the Groot shorts. "Groot Takes a Bath" was probably my favorite. Overall, they were cute. I'm just semi curious where the rest of the crew was while he's having these little adventures save for the "Magnum Opus" where two other team members are featured.

I'm guessing the private conversation Peter had with Gamora in GOTG about Kevin Bacon is probably not the first time he mentioned him so I guess the whole team knows about his love for him? Is there a Kevin Bacon reference in GOTG2 that I'm forgetting?

No, but there is one in Infinity War. So Quill's definitely talked him up a lot.

 

Thanks, sorry, don't mean to be a wet blanket as I love Gunn, but the random Hollywood actor cameo for joke purposes shouldn't be a well they visit too often. It just seems the go to place for a laugh as of late. Or maybe I'm just in a bad mood.

Edit: Also, why waste the surprise in the trailer? I digress.

 

I can't speak for the other one, I tapped out of following the MCU as closely as I used to a few shows ago and thus haven't gotten around to watching She-Hulk yet, but with this one at least, the Kevin Bacon joke is one that's been rooted in Quill's character since the beginning (and, more broadly and importantly, in his outlook as a person that has real trouble letting go of anything from his past to a sometimes detrimental level) and will likely end up being the crux of a big lesson that he comes to grips with here, alongside whatever antics ensue as Drax and Mantis are wrangling Kevin Bacon up and hauling him off-world.

 

Brilliant trailer, only thing missing is David Hasselhoff.

 

Groot apparently had a growth spurt from Love and Thunder to this, as he looked the same from Infinity War to L&T. But he goes from Baby Groot to teen Groot during the credits of GotGV2 so apparently that's just how Groots grow I guess

 

Maybe he sat in some Miracle Grow?

Do you watch The Goldbergs? He was in 2-3 episodes of Season 10. His wig isn't doing him any favors.

 

So Drax and Mantis are gonna to do a tag-team performance of Cousin Eddie with a Christmas kidnapping as a gift. Looks fun.
