Well done...You've done a tremendous job of capturing the inner struggle of Obi-Wan as a Padawan. His turmoil leaps off the page.

    Great job!

    Despite being 900 years old, Yoda can be pretty smart sometimes ;)

    Yoda is smart but maybe if he wasn't so cryptic it wouldn't take Obi-Wan so long to figure out what is right or wrong.[face_laugh]

    Nice one=D=

    Entry #9

    My name is Obi-Wan Kenobi. And I am a Jedi Padawan.

    I?m almost afraid to write the words. What if I write them and Master Qui-Gon changes his mind?

    Then I have to laugh at myself, because Master Qui-Gon has not shown himself to be one who changes his mind quickly or easily. I should know that better than most. There was a time that worked against me. Now it is in my favor.

    He has chosen to become my Master. That is not a commitment he makes lightly. Not to me. Not to himself. Knowing more of what happened now, I am not surprised at his reluctance to take on a Padawan. I am only surprised that he did, and that it was me.

    I can?t even begin to say how much my life has changed. I was right to hope that Qui-Gon would come to my rescue. He did. In more ways than one. He changed my life. I was one thing before he became my Master. And now I am another. I hope I will prove worthy of his faith in me.

    But now I sometimes wonder if he didn?t need me as much as I needed him. Just as he changed my life, perhaps I have changed his. I hope I have. Our fates our intertwined, the Force has made that clear. One way or another, what happens to one of us will affect the other.

    And I wouldn?t put it past Master Yoda to throw us together because he saw that we needed each other.

    Master Yoda is sneaky. And he's had a long time to practice.

    I guess that's why Palps hated him so much, he didn't like competing for "Most Sneaky"!

    Truer words were never written :p

    I'm thrilled to see Obi and Qui finally being paired together. They do need each other and it's great Obi can see that.

    Great update

    Yoda sneaky? Of course he is. [face_mischief] Obi-Wan is learning fast. And it's so nice to see him back as a padawan. :)

    earlybird-obi-wan Just as I suspected! [face_mischief]

    Corellian_Ale Maybe once they were best buds and then... well, you know how fast rivalry can ruin a friendship!

    Entry #10

    Today is a special day to me, but I do not think Master Qui-Gon knows. Today, I am thirteen. Thirteen is of special significance. Once, it was a date I dreaded. When I waited to discover my fate as a Jedi, while I wondered if any Master would claim me as their own, this day loomed like a death sentence in my mind.

    Now, I find that I am happy to have passed this milestone. My joy is possible only because I am the Padawan of Master Qui-Gon Jinn.

    But does he know what today means to me?

    Sometimes, I think I see a teasing glint in his eyes, but then his expression is serene and suitable to a Jedi Master. There is no requirement for him to acknowledge this day, though it is the custom among Masters and Padawans. I want to tell him, and yet I don?t. What if he thinks me so ill-mannered that I am seeking gifts or attention? That would be horrible.

    And embarrassing. Mostly embarrassing.

    Perhaps it is best to wait and see.

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    My Master did not forget. He even gave me a present. He gave me a?rock.
    That it has great meaning to him, I do not doubt. But still.
    A rock?
    This Padawan business is rather more complicated than I anticipated.
    You think, Obi? [face_laugh] Just wait...there's pathetic life forms to come, then Tahl will steal Qui's attention from you, then Anakin will steal Qui from you - oh, heck, there's plenty of years before you find all that out.
    Enjoy.
    LOL!! Obi's mystification at the gift just flows off the screen. [face_laugh] It's definitely a gift he'll come to understand with getting to know Qui-Gon and sharing and learning from one another.
    He gave me a?rock.
    [face_laugh] All I can think of is Obi-Wan wearing a sheet over his head that has about 14 holes in it.
    good grief :p
    Awwww, give it time Obi.
    I'm sure you'll be able to figure out the significance.
