not to be greedy, but if it's possible, i would actually like to see an availability to upload our own icons...

Or i'd like to see obiwan, and the era symbols.(i.e. the rebellion, the empire, the new jedi order, the old republic, etc..)

 

That would be nice.
Once again, people have the chance to upload pornographic images, but isn't that the reason why we have admins?

Folks, stop complaining. The ones we have are miles beyond our UBB icons.

 

[Disclaimer] I wrote this without consulting any other admins, but here's the deal as I see it:

We're adding new icons as much as possible, but it's a slow process. If you know of a character that you think would be a big hit (e.g. Mace Windu, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, etc.), just make your own icon in gif format around 50 X 50 pixels in size and send me a URL to it. I'll then post it in the Admin-only forum for Nic to use.

The beauty of this is that you, my fellow JCers, may be able to be a part of the creation of these icons (and did I mention that it'll get you the icons you want a lot quicker? ). It'll be a bit of work, but as of right now I think the only person actively working on icons is Amy Pronovost (ArtyEwok) and we don't want her to shoulder all the burden.

Now, I don't think we'll be able to do personalized images (e.g. a picture of your face or pet), but if you want to make one that you'd be willing to share with hundreds of like-minded SW fans, more power to you!

We're not complaining, we're requesting. Or suggesting. But we never complain. Especially not when we can emphasize our text the proper way.


So, just to add to the suggestion list:

• Qui-Gon Jinn


• Obi-Wan Kenobi (any age)


• Amidala (any costume)


• A Handmaiden (any handmaiden, any costume, just as long as it's truly a handmaiden, not Amidala pretending to be a handmaiden)

 

I'd prefer a Darth Sidious icon to all those light-side characters...

I think everyone should chill with the requests a bit. I'm sure they'll all get done eventually. I am patiently awaiting some Obi ones though.

I'd think the picture posts just make it easier for the mod. They can immediatly see that there are objectionable pictures up. It's not like trolls label the links "porn" they're more likly to put "Happy bunny rabbits"

I don't think we should have our own pics as icons. It just seems like more trouble than it's worth.

I have a complaint. The Boba Fett icon is simply too small, especially with that particular wide angle pic. If the icon was larger then it might be better, but as it is it's hard to make out who it is. I think we need a new Boba Fett icon.
