Lit If Eragon had been written pre-1977, would it change everything?

Lets say Christopher Paolini was born a few generations before he actually was and penned Eragon in the early 70's. Lets say George Lucas never heard of it or read it, when he wrote Star Wars. Would that change how Star Wars was viewed today? Would neighsayers say the Star Wars is just an Eragon knock-off but in space and without the dragon, or would it fade so far into obscurity that Star Wars would eclipse it completely and only the most rapid bibliophiles would draw parallels?

 

What if George Lucas lived in ancient Judea and wrote The Phantom Menace before the Bible, and Jesus was accused of copying Anakin's virgin birth?

 

What if Luke was the prince that needed to be rescued and Leia the Jedi in training?
