I would inhabit Point Given so I could experience what it is like for someone else to experience another person’s experience being on the moon for 75 hours.

I bet it’s got more boring time in that 75 hours than we’re expecting for both astronaut and astral plane observer.

Also curious when do you start feeling gravity again as you begin approach to land on the moon.

Socrates unless I'm not allowed fluency in ancient Greek. I don't want to assume this is sort of a Being John Malkovich scenario where it's me stuck inside the head of a historical celebrity like a helpless prisoner. I'd like some direct brain access too and language abilities. And what happens if I ask to be Homer but it turns out there is no Homer. "Homer" is just a collective name for a long series of poets. Am I going to get spread out across perhaps hundreds of bards or poets or whomever was responsible for the Iliad? Also if I want to witness Shakespeare but it turns out it wasn't him after all responsible for his work and I get stuck inside some chump. Really this is provoking a lot of anxiety.

Is it inhabit from birth to death or do we get to choose a period of time? I don't want to live anyone else's childhood even if that's the best way to learn a foreign or dead language, unless it's maybe a crown prince or someone else unlikely to have to take regular beatings or try to survive polio or the mumps.

 

I hope this thread has a good run. Being obsessed with history, I could list top tier choices forever.

To force one, I guess I'd have to aim for someone who saw a huge sweep of... stuff. Hannibal Barca...
-One of my favorite figures in history.
-I'd love to see his brilliance in planning, even though it was used in war.
-I'd see three great Mediterranean civilizations (Carthage, Rome, Seleucid Empire).
-I'd see indigenous Iberian peoples and tribes (that I'm descended from).
-See the Gauls in modern France as well.
-And yet more places/peoples with his fleeing to Asia Minor.
-His life is a classic tragedy but in non-fiction. It'd be like a real-life Shakespearean tale that takes 60 years to tell.

And yeah, sorry for the tens of thousands that would be killed in battle by the guy I'd be inhabiting.

Houdini is a good one because you get to be cool AND be friends with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, even though he was an idiot.

I’d rather be a witness to the captain of titanic coming to terms with the reality of the situation than experience it from his POV.
