If you were to cast a new Indiana Jones, who would it be?

I say Hugh Jackman. Watch his movies.

 

Tom Selleck, of course!!!

 

Take Harrison Ford, or don't make another Indy movie. Harrison is the ONLY Indy... there's no choice.

 

Okay, but what if it had to be one of the above.

 

Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones. It could never be any of the people mentioned above. The film would not work, and would ultimately fail. Therefore the choice can not be made. If they make another Indy with an older Ford, then they should make that part of the story--- and older, wiser, Indiana Jones that still has some tricks up his sleeve. Maybe his new comic sidekick could be his young son?? Of course the film would have to take place in the 1940's or 50's. No Nazis, but Communists are alive and well! Connery could make a cameo as well.

 

Homer Simpson, failing that Hugh Jackman.

Brendan Fraser. His roles in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns would get him the part. He like a modern day Indiana Jones already with those roles. That is who would win with me...and that he graduated from acting college in Seattle, WA...my homeland.

I don't want to see any other actor playing Indy. Even if he looks older than in the other movies, I wouldn't care. In "Lethal Weapon 4" I liked Riggs and Murtaugh both complaining about getting "too old for the sh...", and I wouldn't mind Indy doing the same on "Indy 4"... would be fun, I'm sure.

 

Nah, Brendan is too wholesome-looking to play Indy. It's Ford, or no-one.

Of all these choices, Hugh Jackman is probably the best. Like Ford, Jackman can be funny and romantic (as in "Kate & Leopold"), but also tough and dark (as in "X-Men"). He's also handsome without being a pretty boy. Quaid and Clooney don't look that much younger than Ford, while O'Connell and Fraser are too young and goofy. Besides, why would I want to see Fraser in a crappy "Indiana Jones" film when I can watch his crappy "Mummy" movies? As for Ben Affleck... ugh! I'm tired of that wannabe action hero trying to look tough by sticking out his chin.

But my feeling is that it is Ford or noone. Ford was perfectly cast as Indy and it's hard to picture another actor in the role (sorry, Tom Selleck). I would have liked more "Indiana Jones" films, but it's better that they chose quality over quantity ("The Temple of Doom" and "The Last Crusade" themselves, while better than most sequels, were inferior to "Raiders of the Lost Ark"). The last thing I would want is for the series to go on forever with different actors, like the "James Bond" films. Sean Connery will always be Bond in my mind, and while Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan were okay, George Lazenby and Roger Moore were terrible.

Sean Patrick Flannery is the obvious choice, folks. He's Indy, too.

Tom Selleck would be okay if it the story were years after TLC.
If HF was the definite image of Indy then of course, Ford! But if it was a franchise like Batman and James Bond, I'm open.
