This may sound a bit n00bish, but how do you block and ignore certain users on the Jedi Council Forums?

An example is if I find someone to be annoying, and I want to block all Private Messages that come from that user.

I know other boards have this feature. Does the Jedi Council Forums have this feature? If yes, how do I use it?

    Thanks.

That feature is not available on these boards. If someone is harassing you via PM, tell them to stop. If they don't, contact an administrator.

As others have said, that is not something you can do on these boards. If you have a real issue with a user harassing you, contact an admin for help. :)

Better to tell an Admin, then to say nothing at all, Juli.;)

The only ignore feature here is not to respond to users you don't get along with.

That would be a cool feature though, although not really that useful, because you aren't forced to open your PM's. Maybe zerosleep can write it in later. :D

Not something that you're able to do with this database. But if you're having trouble, PM DarthSapient, gabe, or I and we can take care of it.

I was simply stating good madam, that upon such a complaint, said harresser would be promptly punished and probably suffer a fate much like burning in the eternal firepits of hell. :-B

i might be mistakened or thinking of another board but isn't there something where you ignore so many PMs from a user that eventually they get blocked?

If you have five unopened SENT PMs, you won't be able to send another. A feature to discourage spamvertising.

Additionally, you can't send PMs until you have 25 posts (this number may be incorrect, but there's a certain number).

Last I heard, it was 25. It may have changed though.

    Fixed. (minus html :( )

And out of curiosity, is the user just annoying, or are they actually intentionally harassing you?

Why do people feel the need for a button so they can ignore someone? Just ignore them, its not hard to do. If a PM is sent don't open it, if the person makes an assanine post don't read it. Why the need for a button?

I'm sorry to correct you, but this changed a long time ago. Yes, there was a short time when you couldn't send a PM if you hadn't enough posts. But it changed a short time after that installation. So you don't need a certain number of posts before you can send PMs (I've just checked it again). :)

Edit: To make it more clearer. :)

You're right. I just tested PMing myself from a new sock. It let me. Must be something zs changed in the last batch or two of changes.

I think it's been that way for awhile - we have had a few spamvertisers that sent PMs without posting anything first.

We need an "Ignore mod" feature.

I agree with YJ on this issue. Get in touch with an admin and we'll help. The ignore feature is something unavailable on these boards.
