"I hope you brought a proper attire for a duel" said the girl with a grin.

"You are late" was the only answer she got from the other girl. She would have love to observe neither she had the proper attire for a duel, before remembering she was dealing with Pamelians. Her opponent dress could easily be stripped from the skirt part, and while neither she would consider a sort of leotard or underwear under it a proper attire for a duel either, she reminded herself: Pamelians.
What else could be expected from an amazonian principality?

The youth of Pamelia, following the trend among the young men of other Aelian nations, had enthusiastically adopted dueling as a proper way to solve a conflict between two gentlemen. Except that in Pamelia, rather than, where women the ones to issue these challenges.

And they issued the challenges of duels at the minor grievance, proud of their amazonian heritage. And to make a point out of it, they loved to challenge to duel foreigners, both men and women, who normally would refuse.

But this time wasn't the case. The Nicolian girl didn't back up, when in the middle of a dance, a bratty Pamelian girl demanded she was dancing with Her boy. It was really nothing: no reason at all. But the amazonian girl, used to push around other Aelian and Zarhuycan women around with the mere threat of a duel, challenged her over it.

And the Nicolian girl accepted it: She may not come from an Amazonian realm, but the Nicolian Kingdom of Liohn had it's own glorious past of women who weren't shy in face of a challenge.

And now, both of them were in the outskirts of Montdunan, to duel. The seconds where ready, and somewhat nervous: the ban of the princess on duels could mean prison or heavy fines, after all.

"I was busy" the pamelian said abruptly, without an apology. the Nicolian frowned. A duel was to be a matter of honor, and the way the brat acted showed she didn't took this seriously.

"As you issued the challenge, I am the one to choose the weapons." the Nicolian said. This clearly contradicted the wishes of the Pamelian girl, who had been visibly playing with her sword.

"What it would be then? Swords? Pistols?" the Pamelian asked, curious. She didn't saw either the nicolian girl or her second to be armed, or to bring along anything where a weapon could be hidden.

"Poetry" the Nicolian said, seriously

"Poetry?!" the Pamelian said surprised. Her opponent slowly nodded. "It's allowed in the Dueling Code of Dol'Sorne, which is accepted in both Pamelia and Nicolia".

The amazonian girl face flushed red in anger: Cursed elves writing rules! POETRY?! IN A DUEL?!

Despite all the duels she had issued, she had never read the Dueling Code on use. She turned with a questioning look to her second -her great aunt, with which she normally went along for parties, drinking and dueling-. Her elf great aunt raised her shoulders in a gesture asking for forgiveness.

In Modern Aels, the only proper Aelian amazon state was the Principality of Pamelia, but there were other states with indirect amazonian influences, as the Nicolian Kingdom of Liohn, Valkny and Korsea.
