Benlon exists on the Northern Continent in the Central Forests region.

CENTRAL FORESTS

The Central Forests is covered with towering forests.
Most of the trees are many times larger than Earth trees

The main industries here are lumber, forest agriculture, forestry, services and tourism.

BENLON
The area around Benlon is where the tallest trees the Turran (Heart Trees) are located and so
it is called The Place of Deep Roots

Turran trees are many times larger than Earth's Redwoods and Sequoias, and can stretch

up to 400 meters.
They can live for up to 20,000-30,000 years

Turran trees were regarded as sacred by the ancient Nlians and dwellings were made within them.
They were never cut, but wood and bark were harvested from their branches.
Their fungi are well known for their medicinal purposes and their sap, nuts and fruits are used
for food.

For thousands of years Benlon has been regarded as a sacred place
There is always a quiet, reverent air and there are several retreats.

For thousands of years Benlon was a gathering point for the Northern Tribes and a place
where they recorded history.

A common saying is "The Trees Remember."

Benlon has a very strong sense of history and tradition
Benlon is known as one of Nlia's Scholar Cities, due to a famous Archive(Library)
and House of Learning. (University)
There is also an important Medical Center.

Icar is located in the Revla System
It is the first planet in the system and the closest to its sun, Revla.


PLANETERY INFO
Class: K (Adaptable) (Similar to Mars, but hotter)
Rotational Period: 16 hours

Atmosphere:
The planet has an atmosphere comprised mostly of carbon dioxide.
Volcanic gasses and dust reduces sunlight and heat, so while it's very hot, it’s not killer-hot.
The areas around the poles have the clearest skies




Gravity:
Due to its abundant ores and metals, Icar is very dense in composition.
Gravity is heavier than you’d expect for its smaller size.


Surface:
Icar has highly active volcanic zones and frequent quakes.
This constant geologic activity has resulted in mountain ranges that dwarf the Himalayas.
There is less geologic activity at the poles, as well as frozen water
Icar is extremely rich in ores and minerals, including dilithium.


Native Life:
There is no native flora or fauna.

Icar is rich in ores and minerals, including dilithium, and provides nearly a third of the raw resources for Nlia’s industry.
The Nlians have always been as meticulous about the environment of Icar as they have of their home planet.
In the 400 years that they've mined the planet, they've used less than 0.3% of its resources.


MOBILE MINING
There are multiple mobile installations that are used both for mining, extended land travel and shelter.
They range from 40-100m in length and have crews/populations from 20-50.

They spend months traveling and mining before heading toward one of the settlements to offload.
Many of them constantly follow the planet’s terminator (border between day and night).

Some mobile miners live permanently on their transports.
A subculture has developed among them and they refer to themselves as the Icarian Nomads.


SHIPYARDS
Icar is a key ship construction and design facility
There are several planetary construction years and space drydocks.


SCIENCE
There are several scientific installations on Icar
The Icar Institute of Gelology is reknowned throughout the Revla System.


THE NORTHERN POLE SETTLEMENT

The Northern Pole Settlement is the largest settlement and considered the capital.
It is located at the North Pole where the weather is cooler and the ground less tectonically active.
There are also expansive cavern and tunnel structures.
Geothermal and solar energy are the major sources of power

This is where the planet's largest refineries are located and is also where there largest shipyards are.
There is a constant stream of off-world visitors.

SKY MOUNTAINS
The Sky Mountains are a mountain range that stretches across much of the northeastern border
of the Eastern Continent
They are the tallest mountains on Nlia, ranging up to 6000 meters (Comparable to the Andes) and famous for their majestic appearance.



Although the region has an arid climate, at higher elevations the temperatures are cold at night.
There are several rivers and tiny lakes and both hydraulics and irrigation are vital skills.
There are also extensive grasslands as well as scrublands and trees.

There are three city states: Galeel, Iray and Reemlay.
Aside from them there are there are numerous small villages.
There are also many pastoral nomads who live as their ancestors have for thousands of years.
All inhabitants are known for their skill at mountain climbing and wilderness survival.

Settlements are built either within river valleys or atop plateaus.
Many buildings are carved within mountainsides.
The people of the region are famous for their skill at masonry and are called the Stone Weavers.

Thousands of years ago the region underwent extensive volcanic activity and in some areas there are still active volcanoes.
The result is that the area is rich in ores and minerals and this is where Nlia’s heaviest mining industries are concentrated.
Aside from mining, the economy is dominated by subsistence agriculture and livestock.

For thousands of years there has been constant trade among the cities of the Sky Mountains and the regions beyond.
Caravans are still regular.
The region attracts scores of visitors, including scientists, historians and artists.

The region is known for its contemplative atmosphere and there are several retreats and monasteries.

GALEEL
Galeel is the smallest of the region's city states.
It is located on a vast elevated plateau three miles above sea level (over 3000 meters).
It is the highest city on Nlia, which has earned it the name The City of Sky Reach and The City of Heights

Because its at such a high altitude, Galeel has a colder temperature than the rest of the continent.
Temperatures can drop to 30 degrees °F.

The Galeena River runs near the city and is a source of hydraulic power.
Because of this the city is also called The City of the Mountain Falls

The city is surrounded by imposing mountain ranges that contain Nlia highest summits.
From here one can see for hundreds of miles in every direction and virtually every window offers stunning mountain views.
Many regard Galeel as the most beautiful of the Sky Mountain cities.

With the exception of docking facilities for flying craft there is no mass transportation.
People either walk, use animal mounts, or small craft.

Galeel's economy relies primarily on subsistence agriculture, animal husbandry and craftsmanship.
Small scale mineral mining and geothermal heat extraction is also practiced.

Galeel has long been famous for its exceptional weaving.
The wools from this region are considered among the highest quality on Nlia.

Galeel is also known for its spices and the flavor of its foods.

Galeel has a long tradition of scholarship and is regarded as one of Nlia's 'Scholar Cities'
It has a famous Archive (Library) and House of Learning and many scholars and philosophers have lived or studied here.

Many believe that the surrounding mountains views are helpful for deep thought and contemplation.

The Northern Land: A tiny northern island continent, roughly the size of Turkey.
The Western Land: A large western continent the size of Eurasia

The two southern continents are collectively referred to as the Southern Lands
They are comprised mostly of desert with some arid grasslands at the northern coasts and the southern tips.

NORTHERN CONTINENT
In stark contrast to the Southern Lands, the tiny Northern Land, is covered with dense forests,
with rainforests in the southernmost coasts.

Skadi exists on in the Central Forests region.

Skadi is the largest city in the Central Forests region and an important economic and commercial hub.

Rivers have long been of great commercial and symbolic importance to the inhabitants.
For thousands of years the Nlians who lived in this area were known for their skill at river faring.
The city is well known for its boat races and river pageantry.

SUNLET HILLS
The Sunlet Hills is a region in the southwestern edge of the Eastern Continent


The region is comprised of arid hils with several large rock formations.
The formations have long been viewed as protective sentinals and many dwellings have been carved within them.

Although the region is arid, it's famous for its many springs and is the location of Tavlee Lake, the largest freshwater body on Nlia.
In addition to the lake, the region is bordered to the west and south by the ocean.
The inhabitants call themselves 'Blessed by both sea and lake."

There are four city-states: Boralee, Kaylavee, Lovaro, Lozir

Boralee and Lozir are by the ocean and Kaylavee and Lovaro by Tavlee Lake.
Aside from the four cities, there are hundreds of tiny scattered villages.
There are also many nomadic tribes who live as their ancestors have for millennia.

The region is viewed by many as sacred and many come seeking phyiscal, mental and spirtual renewal.
There are many retreats and the area takes pride in its medical centers.

KAYLAVEE
Kaylavee is located by the northwestern shore of Tavlee Lake
Its closest neighbor is the city state of Lovaro, which is located on the northeastern shore.
Both cities regard the lake as sacred and their tending of it as a sacred trust.

Both cities are referred to as the Cities of the Lake.
Kaylavee is called the Keeper of the Western Lake.

As well as the lake, Kaylavee is famous for its many springs and is called the City of Springs
The springs are famous for being both refreshing and healing.

The economy is based on agriculture, fishing, services and tourism.
The inhabitants are skilled in hydraulics and irrigation and have turned the lands surrounding the lake green.

As with all Nlian citiy states, there is lively trade and caravans constantly pass through.
The inhabitants are known for their love of boats.
Ferries run round the clock and there are many elaborate boat races and water spectacles.

Kaylavee has long had a strong relationship with the neighboring city-state of Lovaro.
The two cities were founded at the same time (around 4000 B.C.)and at first there was a fierce rivalry between them.
In 2000 B.C. conflict broke out between the two cites over water rights resulting in seventeen deaths.
Ever since then the two cities have held an annual joint ceremony to commerate the tragedy and to pledge never to fight each other again.
They also reguarly hold joint spectacles and festivals to strengthen their ties.

Monstrosities - Luminatra By Zigwolf

Just like Reptic turning into Deusaurix . Tinkre Bhell will become this giant insectoid fae being. Oberon, King of the Faeries, sees colossal creatures Deusaurix, Kingortres, and Arctidactar battling on the surface world, threatening the world with certain destruction. Wanting to take action, Oberon summons his faerie subjects, including Tinkre Bhell, and fuses them into one legendary being to all faeriefolk, Luminatra, the Light of All Fae. With her luminous, rainbow body, she shines intense lights that rival the intensity of the sun and can burn all in its path if not careful.

Tink still exists in the collective hive mind of Luminatra.

Legend has it that Luminatra can lead the way to the burning rainbow colored Bifrost Bridge of Asgard as she draws some of her power from it as well as the faeries used to create her.

Itaweret of Per-Pehu, Cel-Shaded By TyrannoNinja

This would be another piece of concept art for Itaweret, a strong-willed priestess of Kemetian (ancient Egyptian) descent who is the protagonist of my upcoming alternate history/fantasy novel "Priestess of the Lost Colony". To sum up her story without spoiling anything, Itaweret hails from a Kemetian colony called Per-Pehu on the coast of Greece, and she must liberate her people from enslavement after the warlike Mycenaeans sack her hometown. I've already finished and done a few revisions for the novel's first draft, so it should be ready for publication soon!

Raised by gorillas deep in the rainforest of Central Africa, this woman will fight to the death to defend her adoptive family and their homeland.

The biggest challenge in creating this was getting the gorillas' anatomy as accurate as possible. Their overall anatomy is similar to that of human beings (they are our closest relatives after chimpanzees and bonobos, after all), yet they differ from us in their proportions and postures.

This is my little redesign for Bek, who is one of the supporting characters from my novel "Priestess of the Lost Colony". When the warlord Scylax of Mycenae sacks the colony, Bek must accompany his sister on their quest to liberate their people from enslavement.

Below is my original design for Bek. I felt that my redesigned version had to be less muscular, since the character is supposed to be in his late teens at most.

After partaking in a battle out in the rocky desert, an Egyptian warrior brandishes his blood-stained khopesh while roaring out his victory cry.

I saw a short documentary on Youtube about forging a khopesh sword like those used by the ancient Egyptians, and it made me want to draw this scene. At the video’s 8:32 time mark, they actually featured one of my earlier drawings, which I found very flattering!
