Wayne Reynolds certainly has a distinctive style. Mostly I like it - but sometimes he does Arms and wrists in a rather over-muscled fashion.

These characters are from the Elenium series by David Eddings. I liked the series quite a bit, and the pics capture the characters quite well even if they use templates rather than being drawn freehand.

The woman on the left is Queen Ehlana, Queen of Elenia and wife of Prince Consort, Sparhawk. She is the mother of Crown Princess Danae (who happens to be an incarnation of the Styric Goddess, Aphrael). At the end of Domes of Fire, she and her maid Alean are kidnapped by Zalasta's cohorts, specifically, Scrapa and Kragen. She is mistreated by Scrapa and her hair is cut off strand by strand to be included in the hostage letters given to Sparhawk. The deal was, Sparhawk was to give over the Bhelliom (Blue Rose, his father) to Zalasta -- otherwise, they would kill Ehlana and Alean. She was also one of the first among Sparhawk's party to see Cyrgon, old archaic god of Cynesga. At the end of The Hidden City, she is rescued by Sparhawk and her hair is restored by Aphrael.

The woman on the right is Empress Elysoun A Valesian woman and one of Emperor Sarabian's wives. She becomes more important towards the end of The Hidden City as she uncovers a plot Empress Chacole (also one of Sarabian's wives) had to assassinate their husband. In the earlier parts of the series, she began a short and passionate love affair with Berit. Berit is one of Sparhawk's companions (although it is well known that he is also in love with Ehlana). At the end of the Hidden City, Elysoun reveals that she is pregnant with Emperor Sarabian's child. This leads her to... actually put some clothes on, as it is the Valesian tradition.

I know Ehlana would probably wear something more... conservative, but I just felt like dressing her up like this for some reason. Elysoun is actually wearing some clothes! How about that.

Maybe in my next fanart, I'll dress the Queen of Elenia up a little more.


This one isn't quite as good a fit, but it's passable.

Nice background - very verdant. The Dragon reminds me of GoT dragons, but the character is a bit more ranger-ish - makes me think of Merida.
