Imperial fascists?

Something I have read a few times recently in Star Wars comcis is Imperials being called fascists. However...
Fascism is an extremist right wing movement born in Italy, the name itself the italian word comes form the italian word "fascio" (the "fascio" was, during the Roman Empire Age, a symbol of power among bureaucrats)
So, how can this term even exist in the Star Wars Universe?
Is there a planet somewhere inhabited exclusively Bardan Edit: Inappropriate.

 

How can any English exist in Star Wars when it's a Germanic language derived from Saxonian dialects and influenced by bastardized forms of French, Italian, Spanish Latin, and Nordic languages.

 

Sounds like a comic error-using earth language that historically specific sounds like a really really bad idea.
