Some pics showing how a guy turns mostly non-WH parts into a WH figure (it's fantasy but I thouhgt it could still be of interest):

Blackhand-Ogre WIP by Mara999 on DeviantArt
    [IMG]
Among the Warcraft-toys I've bought was this figure of the orc chief Blackhand riding a wolf, which I earlier painted as some type of canine winter-demon. This figure reminds me aesthetically a lot of the Ogre Kingdoms from Warhammer, while the hands are the same size as the ogres in WH. The orc's head is the same size as on WH-orcs, so I'll use the head for that in the future. I only have a few ogre-heads left in my bits-box, so I used the last bearded one and added a braid from a Beastman. The figure needs a really big mount, something hairy and gnarly that looks prehistoric. The plan is to make him similar to the Ogre Kingdoms figures riding the Stonehorn/Thundertusk, with a chain wrapped around his left arm and a long spear to poke people who get too close to him.

Something that needs to be pointed out, if anybody else wants to use these Warcraft-toys for converting miniatures: I really hate working with the material. One reason is that the plastic is a bit rubbery and difficult to properly prime and paint, for reasons I don't fully understand. The earlier wolf and the orc-turned-Frost Giant were really difficult to handle, because the priming remains almost sticky and the new paint dries slower than on hard plastic. The the two spines on Blackhand's shoulders are made from even softer plastic, about as flexible as a chew toy. Putting superglue on the twin dragon-spines made them a bit stiffer, even though they are still too flexible for my liking.

Getting started with the mount for my Ogre warlord. I have a toy elephant, that I at one point had intended to turn into a mammoth, but I changed my mind and decided that I want my Ogre warlord to ride a Rhinox instead. I'm building the rhinox from a toy bull, which I'll transform into a more rhino-like creature with plenty of hot glue and green-stuff. The creature has an open mouth, because I want to use a thin chain as reins, going into its jaws and then wrapped around the ogre's free arm.

I'm really liking modeling paste as a crafting tool on miniatures as well. The paste works well to create matted fur on the toy bull, which helps it become a monstrous rhino-mount for something as crude as an ogre. Quite pleased with the results so far.

The conversion on this Warcraft-toy into an Ogre Tyrant has been finished for more than a month already, so I wanted to get the paintjob done finally. Unfortunately, some of my paints are getting thicker with age and the result is often smudgy, with some of the original detail lost. But I still like the end-result, because the Blackhand-Ogre looks like a fierce monster no matter what. This double-model is huge, with the rider alone being a big guy, but I gather his mount is bigger than many 28mm elephants.

    New previews are up.
    https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/01/23/warhammer-preview-online-the-dead-and-the-divine/

    My thoughts.

The new type of Titan for Horus Heresy and Titanicus is cool

The Sororitas get a baby carrier pattern mech suit of their own. Not a fan of it. I know the Imperium has had a few mechs for a while but we have gone from having 2 (the Centurion and the Dread knight) to now having 4+ and mechs should really be a Tau thing.

Youtuber Kiroith has a great name for the Sisters Paragon suit, the Nun dum.

So the release of the heavy intercessors and the captain with master crafted bolt rifle is going to be tied to the Kill team skirmish game which is fine but no date given yet. Plus rules for the indomitus set units like assault interceptors for kill team.

No word on the release dates of the next supplement after the Death guard.

But we did get news this week that the multipart blade guard vets kit while go on pre order next week and ship first week in February.

With the new titan I find myself wondering when are they going to get to the Imperator? Or will this be a variant of Heresy-era Imperator?

I like this. Nice to see the sisters getting some really new things instead of just new version of the old or variants of the old. Unlike some people would I not call them mechs but exo-suits/armours, and it feels like it fit with the Grey Knights Dreadknight design, which is nice by me since the SoB:s and GK: are both =][= Chamber Militant.

Hope we will get something to make it even more gothic.

A cool trailer. No other real comments from me here.

A fun trailer. No other real comments from me here.

I can see some interesting minor xenos created from this guy, or Chaos things.

The Daughters of Khaine's Endless Spells can be used for some different things - the Heart of Fury is perfect as an Eldar icon, mystical terrain or to be used as a count-as-a-avatar-of-Khaine. The Bloodwrack Viper is either a xeno-beast, a something for a sorcerer/psyker to stand on, or a Warp-creator. The Bladewind is a daemon.

Hello Blood Angels/BA successors heads. And other parts. They are also perfect for Rogue Traders, =][=:s, and their underlings, or for non-Marine Chaos-sworn

(dubbelpostning so all videos are visible)

First of: a really nice trailer. Second: Jelsen Darrock is created to be turned into a =][=, but he can absolute be used for other wh40k characters. Gorslav the Gravekeeper work as a rogue/Chaos psyker without any changes, he could really also work as an imperial psyker if you change the showel to a psyker/astropath staff.

DA Codex up for pre order starting Saturday along with a Dark Angels combat patrol and the multipart blade guard and eradicators

I will be ordering the Codex, eradicators and bladeguard but not the combat patrol as I have everything in it but the dreadnought which I can get for cheaper by itself.

Aaron Dembski-Bowden talking to Anthony, the AoS Coach, about: "writing for Warhammer, including answering a bunch of questions about how I personally write stuff, musings on Intellectual Property writing in general, a lot of Warhammer talk, and some advice on how to approach Black Library in terms of getting your own stuff published."

Like how only the Cowled Wardens have a symbol that makes you think Dark Angels and non of the Chapter's have a colour scheme that says "Dark Angels successors"

I think that's the idea - diverging a bit from the traditional depictions. The Blood Angels got that teal blue chapter that looks nothing like regular Blood Angels successors - now it's the Dark Angel's turn.

She makes some lore mistakes, have a brainfart regarding the Ultima Founding, and have some other misses (like not seeing that the Angels of Defiance's symbol is a key) but she make som interesting/fun comments.

While we are at it do I feel like sharing my idea for a DA successor, they are part of a larger concept I'm working on that is a similar organization to Adeptus Vaelarii but for another region of space where all the members are based on the families that was represented in the Order of the Dragon, that I call Adeptus Draconistarum.

    Lions Sable Chapter

+ Based on the House of Shishman
    [IMG]

+ A Space Marine Chapter, Dark Angel’s successors
+ Colours are split with the right side yellow, left side black, with their pauldron being the reverse colour of that side – based on that Fruzhin (who was the Shishman member of the Order of the Dragon) belonged to the Sratsimir branch of the family, whose coat-of-arm was a colour swap of the main branch colour and the first picture I saw illustrating this was this one:

+ Codex Chapter (-ish?); don’t have a Deathwing or Ravenwing company, or anything similar. Instead they have “knights-errants” (alternative name suggestions are welcome*), who go out in kill-teams to hunt notable threats to the Imperium, which sometime is the Fallen. They are marked by that they have a colour swapped version of their Chapter symbol on their right pauldron instead of the symbol for their battlefield role. Knights-errants teams are created when there is belived need for one and after finished mission do Marine return to his old role (if with more honour to his name).
    * Preferably something that is in Bulgarian or Hungarian or refer to those cultures.
+ The Lions Sable’s Inner Circle know that they are not the first Chapter to bear the name, and also know what happened with the first Lions Sable Chapter.
+ Their chapter-master is known as “despot” – referring to Shishman of Vidin’s title
+ Homeplanet is the Imperial World Nodnol, rich in animal produce and mineral wealth. Has an overall 20th-centery level of tech.
+ Should have some Bulgarian and Hungarian elements since Fruzhin was prince of Bulgaria, but was mainly based in the Kingdom of Hungary
+ Likes falconry and uses many psyber-falcons – mostly because Shishman of Vidin is depicted with a falcon on his hand.
+ many of the Marines keep shoulder length hair with the hair small braids hanging before the hair. Once again based on Shishman of Vidin’s depiction.
+ lots of internal “brotherhoods” [name pending] that are made up by Marines with a certain focus, usually the focus is a one type of weapon or warfare (ex. Brotherhood of the Sword, Brotherhood of the Bolter, Brotherhood of the Rhino), where they train and discuss the different and best uses of their focus. The brotherhood branch over companies and time of service, all are welcome to enter or stay; rank within the brotherhood is only decided upon your skill and understanding of the focus, not your outside rank or senority. Not all brotherhoods are combat focused, there are ones for handcraft, artistry and similar.
    + Lots of internal symbols:
    - Keys = knowledge of Chapter secrets, possibly do different kinds of keys, and/or how they keys are coloured and/or arranged mean
    - The DA symbol = have fought beside the DA
    - Feather tokens = know about the Fallen,
    - Wolves head = have duelled a Space Wolf
    - Wolves head with a dagger behind it = have duelled a Space Wolf and won
+ Lack (mostly?) the monk-ish trappings of the DA.
+ Sometime have pelts and/or fur tokens hanging from their armour [use Space Wolves parts here] – because Shishman of Vidin is depicted with a pelt over his shoulders.
+ Like all members of the Adeptus Draconistarum have they worked with Aeldari, Blood Axes orks, or other xeno mercenaries from time-to-time, against a greater threat. This have been done more-or-less secretly.

Thoughts and comments are welcome :)

Alexis is ok but I prefer either Baldemort(who has the best voice work on Wahrammer YouTube) or Kirioth (who does the best reviews, seriously the posts 45 minute to over an hour videos covering the entire range line for factions with pictures). Chapter Master Valrak is ok and I have actually communicated directly with him in the comments of some of his videos but he focuses on his favorite chapter(Imperial fists) and makes too many Dark Angels are secret traitors jokes.

@Gamiel , 40k theories also does a weekly hombrew chapter of the week on YouTube that might interest you.

Also the Remliez from 40k theories is one of the voice actors on if the Emperor had a text to speech device playing a tech priest.

Alexis focuses Normally on Sisters of Battle and Xenos so not too surprised by that she missed some stuff as Space Marines are not her normal focus.

    @Gamiel
The Night lords and Dark Angels tapestry is great reminds me of the Azrael novella.

Ravenwing getting a huge buff in the new supplement, you can now field all raven wing armies.when playing dark angels the way you could already do so for death wing.

I just wish they would come out with a updated Sammael(the master of the Ravenwing) on his jet bike in plastic or modern forge world resin instead of fine cast., they would not even have to do a whole new bike just adapt on of the custodes jetbikes to be dark angel themed.. The sculpt is decent but very old and quality control on the old fine cast models is an issue
