In case you missed it - C3 Autograph area volunteer call

They are looking for about 500 volunteers to work a minimum of 2 hour shifts, to get paid in a autographed picture or two or more (depending on how much you work I suppose).

 

And something else of note that popped up on the OfficialPix site after I signed up:

Coming soon you can get details on attending autograph guests, our Celebration III licensed photos, and you will even be able to pre-purchase your autograph coupons.

Being able to pre-purchase autograph coupons will once again be a big help! Anything to shorten a line sounds great to me! Hopefully when they post the autograph panel, they'll post the number of coupons needed and we can pre-purchase our coupons as needed.

I think these are both excellent ideas!

 

I volunteered last time and worked with Peter Diamond. I am so glad I had the opportunity to work with him before he passed away. He was really a great guy. He personally thanked me for helping him by autographing a C2 mug I bought and he even kept in contact with me after C2 by calling me from England. It was awesome to have a message from Peter Diamond on my answering machine.

I signed up to volunteer again this year, but don't know how it'll work. Thanks for the info. Seb.

 

I worked last time as well, but not going to this time just because I want more free time to do and see things that I didn't get to last time.

I spent a good deal of time not working with a celeb, more crowd control/answering questions for people in line....just keep that in mind, there's other stuff to do outside of collecting autograph coupons.

Most of my celeb time was with Femi Taylor, and she was fantastic to talk with. She had just had a kid and my first was about a year old, so we shared diaper war stories, more than any sort of SW conversations. Spent part of a morning with "Portkins" which was hilarious, but he spent most of his time pinning over Bobafemme, and was slightly miffed he had a 'dude' with him in her stead.

 

So let me get this straight.... will everyone be able to pre-purchase their autograph coupons, or just those who volunteer?

 

Don't know, but I imagine there will be plenty of notice if the general public is able to prepurchase coupons, as well as plenty of notice about who will be there and how much it will cost to get the autograph.

Also, I imagine, not everyone who applies will get a spot to volunteer. It might go without saying, but thought I'd say it anyway.

 

I went through it, hopefully they'll ask me and I hope it doesn't interfer with any collecting panels.

I got to have some dinner with Star Wars celebs at the Imperial Quartermaster 2 Convention and it was awesome. It would be great to get 2 hours with one person. Even though they'll be signing for other fans in those hours. It would still be cool to be in their presence.

 

I signed up.Id be more than happy to serve Amy Allen.But anyone would be cool.

 

Other than babysitting what kinds are jobs are available in the autograph room?

The email that OfficialPix sent out a few days ago listed seven possible positions to volunteer for. These were:
(1) Guest Escort
(2) Floor Manager
(3) Crowd Control
(4) Autograph Puller
(5) Assistant
(6) Information Guru
(7) On Call

 

how many other people are also applying for these positions?

 

I signed up for it. Guess we'll see what happens.

I didn't see this either the first time around, but I figure I'll give it a whirl. The worst that could happen is that I get to spend a few hours with a SW actor/actress.

got mine the day before yesturday I think. I replied in the second e-mail that I wouldn't mind working with Tobey-Wan and Mara_Jade_Fan. Hopefully they'll know who I'm referring to. I know Lindas' first name only and I assume your ^ name is Tobey but, hey you know what they say about assumptions.
