    POST 200!!!

Gabri_Jade: Now we can't trace him! You aren't going to let us have any information that easily, are you? - Actually, I won't make it that painful. When you really need to know, I'll spill the beans.

And we might feel sorry for Luke when Leia has the baby, LP? That's somewhat worrisome, I must say. - Hee hee. ;)

thebadge: Things are heating up - You betcha!

Knight_Ander: And what did this guy screw-up doing on Hoth? Got to know the answer to that. - Er...the Rebels got away?

Puggy: I read somewhere that you had posts up to April 23rd--and you're not even done writing! - Correction. I have posts up to May 2. And I'm not even done writing. :D

Diabla: Don't mind me, I'm just bitter 'cause right now, it's about -28 in Canada, and you're feeling sorry for a guy in the rain.... - * shivers * Canada is the only place I've ever felt cold in July. I remember sitting in some outdoor venue at the Jazz Festival in Montreal 4 years ago eating ice cream and shivering. Our sympathies. Only 7 more weeks till spring!

Bri_Windstar: Of course there's an Imp spy, there always is. - I can't seem to write these OT stories without them. I guess I just can't believe the Empire would forgo such a good source of information.

HanSolo29: The new information about a traitor among the rebel's team is interesting. I like it! - You might not like what they do with the information they get. Heh. Heh. Heh.

SilverSolo: STUPID STUPID SPIES! - Yikes!

obaona: I'm here! I'm HERE! * waves * Hi there! Glad to see you, as always.

    Er...the Rebels got away?

Uh, I was looking for something more specific. Did he sabotage the Falcon? Was he suppose to prevent Luke's rescue? Was he responsible for the speeders not adjusting to the cold? Did he notice the probe droid on radar and not say anything? Did he turn up the heat in Princess Leia's room to freeze her clothes, and not Artoo?

Besides all of that, I'm eagerly looking forward to more. :D

Only 7 more weeks till spring!

AcK! Why did you say that!? Spring is worse than winter 'cause it's all slush. And I now realise that I sounded like a whimp complaining, we canadians are immune to the cold!(not really).

Anyways I thought this is funny, if you're canadian, then you've heard this rant a 1000 times 'cause after all it's taken from a beer comercial that airs mostly during Hockey Night In Canada, but for the rest of you, here's a little taste of Canadian culture ;)...

Hey, I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader... and I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dogsled... and I don't know Jimmy, Sally, or Suzy from Canada, although I'm certain they're really, really nice. I have a Prime Minister, not a President. I speak English and French, NOT American, and I pronounce it 'ABOUT', NOT 'A BOOT'. I can proudly sew my country's flag on my back pack. I believe in peacekeeping, NOT policing; diversity, not assimilation, and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal. A toque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch, and it is pronounced 'zed', not 'zee', 'zed'!!! Canada is the second largest land mass, the first nation of hockey, and the best part of North America! My name is Joe and I AM. CANADIAN!!!!!! Thank-you."

Yeah, I remember thinking, when I was a kid (and this was back during the original trilogy was still in theatres the first time) that Vader was totally evil. Now, I just can't see him as really evil anymore. Now, I see him more as a fallen hero who couldn't overcome his flaws until he was helped by his son.

I guess Vader is now more of an anti-hero instead of a villain. He's someone who made mistakes, but eventually repented and made amends.

Will Yoda ever be talking to Luke about that? And I'm still wondering what they're doing about lightsabers. Would Yoda have the parts handy for Luke to build a new one?

All right, Knight_Ander: this one's for you.

Blyto, Tonor - The only child of Captain Andel Blyto of the Imperial Navy and Mylie Ramatarrie. His mother was the scion of a very wealthy Naboo family. Mylie's uncle Jec served under Emperor Palpatine, first as a security officer when Palpatine was Senator of Naboo and then as head of Internal Security when Palpatine rose to Supreme Chancellor and later Emperor. Tonor's father Andel was a native of Antares who had a very promising career on graduation from the Imperial Naval Academy on Carida. However, Andel nearly ruined his career through his vices: gambling, drinking and womanizing. Only his marriage to Mylie secured his position as captain. Andel died in a casino brawl on the planet of Konedor 17 months after the Battle of Yavin. At that time, Tonor had just graduated from the Imperial Naval Academy. Tonor's first two tours of duty in the Corporate Sector and in Hutt space were successful campaigns and he rose to the rank of First Lieutenant. However, during the battle of Hoth, he was assigned to a Star Destroyer under the command of Captain Needa. Tonor failed to properly execute the Vogt-Miroti attack maneuver allowing the first two of the Rebel transports to escape the Imperial net. Immediately, he was removed from duty by Captain Needa for the duration of the battle. Other blunders made during the battle by more highly placed officers such as Admiral Ozzel and Captain Needa, as well as Tonor's family connections prevented him from receiving more than the Imperial equivalent of a slap on the wrist. He was demoted to Ensign and sent to hardship duty on an assault cruiser assigned to patrol the remote reaches of the Outer Rim. A month later, however, his grand-uncle Jec requested he be given a second chance. Since Jec was a subordinate that Palpatine felt would be more useful alive and loyal, Palpatine relented and gave Tonor an assignment as an infiltrator into the Alliance, with three objectives: (1) Gathering information on Rebel activities, (2) Feeding misinformation to the Rebellion at the Emperor's direction, (3) Discovering the whereabouts of Commander Luke Skywalker and assisting in his delivery to the Emperor. DO you know what would be nice? If maybe Yoda could tell Luke something about what Obi-Wan was like when he was a young Jedi himself. Luke's only known him really as old Ben, and he clearly was a father figure to him. I think Luke would want to know of what Obi-Wan was like when he was a padawan himself.

RebelMom: Hee hee. I hope you'll enjoy reading that section as much as I liked writing it (wringing my hands and giggling gleefully...)

TorontoJediMaster: There will be some discussion from the past, but I can't give as much insight as people would like on Obi-Wan's past, since I never read the JA series. Hope you won't be too disappointed, though.

    And thanks for the up.

Oh, wow! That was so fun playing catch up with all those new posts. Ha ha, I like the relationship between Leia and Yoda. That flashback with Han was also really nice. Great posts, I wish there were more. *sigh* Now it looks like I have run out of reasons to procrastinate and should start my assignment...*whimper* please don't make me....unless you wanna throw up that new post in the next few minutes? Hmmm? ;)

    Chapter Twelve

    ?Clear your mind. Concentrate.?

Leia tried hard to obey Yoda?s commands and to levitate the five boulders plus one very agitated R2 unit before her. She found that completely ridding her mind of clutter was more difficult than she had expected. She had always prided herself on being able to handle things with single-minded dedication, but until now, she hadn?t realized just how many little things she allowed to dwell in the back of her mind, on the fringes of her consciousness.

?Clear your mind you have not!? Yoda scolded as the boulders did nothing more than roll limply on the ground. ?Allow your mind to fill with the Force you must.?

    ?Fill with the Force??

?Surrender yourself to the Force, you must.?

And that was the crux of the problem. Leia had never allowed herself to surrender to anything before. Like a pitawanger, that merciless canine beast that caught its victims or enemies in its powerful jaws and never, ever let go, Leia always tried relentlessly to keep in control of every situation until the bitter end.

Then again, Leia would also never admit there was a task she wasn?t equal to. Clear her mind? All right. She closed her eyes and just tried to imagine a dark, empty, silent cavernous space. She continued to hold that thought as she took several deep breaths; then suddenly, she felt a rush of energy charging her system. For one brief moment, she felt she was suddenly linked to everything and everyone around her?maybe even to everything on the planet; she felt all the life forces around her channeling energy through her.

Quickly, Leia opened her eyes and focused on the objects before her. The boulders and the frantic R2 unit began to levitate slowly into the air.

Leia gave a smile of pleasure as she saw what she had done, although she was concentrating too hard on the task at hand to notice the rare smile of approval on Yoda?s face as he watched.

A scarlet-winged tannabird cawed loudly in the air at a point not too far from Leia?s back startling her and making her break concentration. Immediately, everything she had levitated now crashed back down to the ground, including Artoo, who fell over on his side and issued a stringent series of protesting beeps and whistles.

?Control! Control! You must maintain control!? Yoda scolded with a scowl. He shook his head. Eight hundred years and not a single Padawan who could hold his first levitation past ten minutes?in fact, Yoda himself was the only one who?d achieved this feat in over a millennia.

?I?m sorry,? Leia murmured as she quickly righted Artoo again. She sat down on the ground and tried again. After another two hours of practice, Leia was finally able to keep her objects floating long enough to satisfy Yoda. By then she was feeling physically and mentally exhausted.

Perhaps Yoda sensed this. In any case, he announced: ?Enough for now. Lunch!? and got to his feet. He entered his hut and started preparing the noontime meal with Leia?s help.

As a Padawan, Leia was coming along reasonably well. As a cook, however, she was a complete failure. Almost her entire life she?d eaten food cooked by others, and on the rare occasions when she needed to fend for herself, there were always autochef machines.

Yoda, however, had none of these things. He hunted and gathered his own food and every step of his cooking was done by hand. Leia gamely tried to help, but when he gave her the furry Dagoban swamp piklet caught in his trap lines earlier that day and asked her to skin it, she quickly realized how useful morning sickness could be as she bolted for the fresher.

She emerged some considerable time later where she found Luke helping Yoda. The piklet, thankfully, was already skinned, dressed, and in the little stone oven emitting a surprisingly fragrant odor.

After lunch, Yoda announced that he was giving them the afternoon off. Luke and Leia exchanged bewildered glances with each other. In the five weeks since they?d come to Dagobah, Yoda had been relentless in his training, and they had always been full

There's a beautiful spot on Dagobah?! Wow.
It's nice to see some Luke/Leia interaction -- and nice to see Luke get some of this off his chest. The stage is being set for Leia to discover that Vader is her father as well, I suspect. Maybe the smaller shocks will inure her to the very large one to come. But if Yoda is the only padawan in a millenium to keep his first levitation for more than ten minutes, then why does he scold so? You'd think he'd expect it by now. About Yoda's errand, curious I am.

It is terribly sad about Columbia. Not only for family and friends of the astronauts, but all those at Mission Control; and it must be a horrible reminder for all those who were in any way involved with Challenger as well. I can't imagine.

I'm glad Luke got that off his chest. Now, when Leia finds out the same thing, she may have her own words come back at her.

I wonder what Yoda is doing. Hmmm....

Wahoo, a new post! I like how Luke and Leia interact, but I've always liked when people write them so close. What I also really liked was that Luke "came clean" with the whole Darth Vader thing. After Bespin, Leia (I think she did, at least) confessed the obvious to Luke--that she was head over heels in love with Han. I'm sure that her confession hurt Luke in some way, whether or not he had gotten over his "puppy love"-type feelings for her. Because Leia made a confession, I really do believe Luke would have told her sooner than that night on Endor (but I guess for the audience's sake it had to happen in a movie, plus it went along with the, "Hey, you're my long lost sister!"-thing) about Darth Vader. But hey, maybe I just don't know Luke, LOL! Anyway, though, I'm glad you had Luke tell Leia about his daddy-o.

LadyPadmé, votre histoire est très bonne, et je l'adore!
