InterFanForce BBQ confirmation and food discussion thread.... post your preferences please...

Okay, here is the deal. I am going to be booking a Picnic Shelter for this event in Rotary Park in Red Deer. It is going to cost about $60, but knowing Alberta weather, I would hate to get rained out for this event. If anybody knows somebody who lives in Red Deer and can book this for us, it will be MUCH cheaper - have them contact me by friday to work something out.

I am also going to be buying and bringing all the main food for this event. This means I will be supplying:

burgers and buns
hot dogs and buns
salads
all condiments
drinks
potato chips and pretzels
plates/forks/spoons/napkins etc


So here is what I need from each person who is attending:

Your choice of main course, your choice of salad, your choice of drink

Please choose one each from the following lists. If you plan on bringing your own of something, please indicate "none" by the category so I can buy accordingly.

Since I am paying for the shelter and food out of my own pocket, I am going to be operating this BBQ as a "Donations Hoped For" basis. You don't have to pay any certain amount, but I would really appreciate a donation to help cover the costs of food and facility.

I also need people to bring some big bowls for chips as well as I need a few volunteers to cook, as I burn water... We may also need some firewood (can't hurt to bring) and cooking utensils.

Anything else I have forgotten?

We only have 5 people confirmed as coming right now... we need more to confirm if we are going to do this... and we need it by wednesday or thursday at the latest (I don't want to leave booking the shelter till much after that), or we are going to have to cancel this...

SHELTER IS BOOKED!!!

The time that was available that day is 11:45am to 1:45pm. So if you get there around 11:30-11:45 that would be great. Weather permitting, we will be able to move out of the shelter when our time is up and move to a picnic area, as they have tables and such available. Even if it is nice out at the time we get there, we can forgo the shelter altogether and just picnic in the sun. The shelter is a "it'll probably rain" contingency plan...

The shelter is in Rotary Park in Red Deer, and should be under the name of "FanForce BBQ"

Rotary park is located at 43 St & 48 Ave.

I would also prefer a ride (no I need a ride) since gas it too high and I'm living off of what they call 'living allowance'

 

I'm going to have to cancel. My wife is not feeling well and I should stay home with her...being pregnant and all.

Uh oh... that probably means Dooks isn't coming now then either?

 

I can still bring wood if you have a tarp so I don't get bark and splinters all over the inside of your trunk, John.

 

Dooks will likely get a ride with me and Veritate, providing we come up. With all the rain, the driving conditions have been really cruddy here. If the roads are as bad on Sunday as they were on Saturday, it will be a risky drive.
