    it was the biggest movie of all time. ET beat it but ticket prices doubled from 1977 to 1982. Was Gone With the Wind the biggest ever? Probably.

    If you include sequels, merchandising, licensing and streaming, then yes. Star Wars reigns supreme.

    If you go solely by the absolute profit from theatrical run, GWTW would be #1
