I was just watching Return of the Jedi on Blu-Ray, and it reminded me of the two Ewoks made-for-TV movies from the 80's.

It made me really want to see a new Ewok Adventure film. Warwick Davis may be getting older, but he could totally reprise his role for another go. Maybe if RotJ gets another go in the theaters in 3D?

I have the two films on DVD, but have yet to see a Blu-Ray release.

Also, what of a Gungan or Sand People film?

This would only work in the age of David Bowie and the muppets.

Unfortunately you can't bring back the 80s.

I think it could be done, and with Green Screen and CGI, it'd be cheaper to do in addition to conventional effects.

It couldn't be any worse than The Smurfs movie.

I think the ship has sailed, unless the Ewoks are CGI and the story involves a crash-landed Jar Jar trying to find a way off Endor. There's just no way to capture the feeling of the 80s in this day and age. It would be really cool if LFL re-aired the originals, though.

Nah, but I see Ewoks showing up in the CW series.

The problem with more Ewok movies is that they weren't really made-for-TV movies. They were actual films and were only broadcast on TV stateside. They were released theatrically overseas. The cost of mounting something like that now would likely be prohibitive.

No, please no. We would be better of with some Old Republic movie.

I'd love to see more Ewoks films. Maybe LFL could talk to SciFi and make them a joint effort.

    Those smurfing Smurfs.

Actually, the odd thing is that Smurfs manage to promote both communism and nationalsocialism. Go figure.

I personally don't want to see another Ewoks movie. Kids have moved on from things to love, and adults have moved on from things to hate, to Greedo shooting first, Jar Jar (The Scrappy on TV Tropes' German page is even called Der Jar Jar.), Ghost!Hayden, and now Ahsoka.

I was/am a big fan of both Ewok movies, and I appreciate this info. - I had forgotten these '80's Ewoks "tele-films" were actually released outside of the US as feature films; Back in the '80's, I saw them on TV and thought they were just made-for-TV movies.

I also agree that the time for Ewoks movies has come & gone; back in the '80's these two "tele-films" and the Ewoks (and Droids) cartoon series were made to capitalize on the popularity of ROTJ. Now, the big thing re: the SW EU is the Clone Wars cartoon.

However, I would still like to see some toys based on these two Ewok movies; I know we got a Teek in an exclusive set last year, but I would still like to see a mass-release Teek, as well as some of the monsters/creatures from the two films.
